Poor little thing is covered and really really poorly.

It's the worst case of CP I've ever seen

you can use tea tree oil...you might want to mix it with cream or oil tho you can use it straight

ggglmpp · 15/02/2008 08:53

handful of bicarb in a warm bath -tepid side of warm, not hot - and plop him in and sponge him/

zippitrippitoes · 15/02/2008 08:54

i think you can also use lavender and chamomile with it

check for exact details...i am a bit random about these things

ggglmpp · 15/02/2008 08:55

not a cool bath, sorry wts.

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 08:57

we did the soda bath last night...

poor thing, hes so tired too. I've been up half the night with him because the ones on his head ore so big he can't get comfy with all the blisters. He's just dozed off but keeps maoning in his sleep

I've called the GP and am waiting for a call back because I'm quite worried.

yes .. best is lukewarm bath with bicarb or run through a sock with a handful of oats in it ... really takes the itch away and you can do it as often as you need

hello ggg

RubySlippers · 15/02/2008 08:57

you can also get an mix of aqueous cream with calamine which is very soothing and easier to apply than the lotion

cool baths with porridge oats (put in a sock and then into the bath), and then pat dry

ggglmpp · 15/02/2008 08:59

yes, get gp if he is suffering with it lth. twig, look - i havr a profile.

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 08:59

DD had a bad case of c pox about 3 months ago (at 9 months) and Medised really helped (and helped with sleep too....)

dilbertina · 15/02/2008 09:09

yes, porridge oats worked with mine. Do put them in an end of old tights or something though...I forgot that bit...sieving porridge out of bath water for hours was not my idea of fun!

furrycat · 15/02/2008 09:10

I can second teh aqueous cream with calamine...really worked

mears · 15/02/2008 09:11

GP prescribed phenergan for my DS when he was that age - it is more effective than piriton by helping them sleep through the itch at night.

ladytophamhatt · 15/02/2008 13:08

Doc couldn't do anything further. Phenagen is licencsed for over 2s so ds4 can't have it....he said what I'm doing now is as much as he can suggest, and keep going with the piriton.

Poor little thing has been so miserable today, one minutes he's fine but the next hes in floods of tears.
And he's got even more spots now then he had this morning....he's got more on his belly now then he had on his entire body yesterday

That's a shame - things have changed in 16 years - DS is now 17!

What about medised at night to help him sleep through the discomfort as well as piriton, just to get him through this phase?

ggglmpp · 15/02/2008 15:10

Brown vinegar - a tablespoon or two in a pint of warm water and then dab all over with cotton wool or cotton wool bud. Or half a cup of said vinegar in warm bath.

bambi06 · 15/02/2008 15:16

bathe him in porridge oats wrapped in a muslin tied round the taps so the water runs through it..very soothing and moisturising fro the skin

lou33 · 15/02/2008 15:48

eurax cream (not lotion)

ggglmpp · 15/02/2008 15:50

Yes, eurax, I couldnt remember its name.

Hi Lou!

lou33 · 15/02/2008 15:53

hi how are you?
