Has anyone had one of these? Should it still be THIS sore after going to the dentist twice? The second time, I refused to leave until something was done and had root canal drilled.
Am now like a hamster but in agony though the pain comes and goes.
Can anyone recommend pain relief that will see me through until I see dentist again on the 13th?

oww you have my sympathies. If you search on my name from about 18 months ago in Health you'll see my root canal saga which culminated in having to have a very fine root drained surgically. Not pleasant.

medismummy- how are you getting on? Has the pain gone ? I feel so sorry for all of you because it is the most awful pain imaginable.
I nuked myself with painkillers and antibiotics over the weekend but there is a niggling sort of 'thinking about it' pain now and I am supposed to get the tooth properly filled tomorrow.
Not convinced that the infection is completely gone
What would happen if it recurred but tooth all filled in properly?

Just back from the root canal filling and apart from feeling that I have gone fifteen rounds with Mike Tyson, is it normal for an NHS patient to have been charged £200 for the treatment?
