Looking for inspiration. Always curious about what people typically have for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks? Do you work out? And would you say you're a healthy weight?

Breakfast - usually toast with something or cereal, sometimes eggs

Snacks - cereal bar or crisps or banana

Lunch - beans on toast, cheese on toast, roll, bagel etc with yoghurt or crisps and fruit.

Dinner - anything! Usually a yoghurt or sweet treat after

Cake

Meant to say BMI of 29 but it’s coming down.

rookiemere · 06/02/2023 21:19

So I'm doing low carb at the minute as I'm 5ft6 and currently around 12 stone ( 5lb down since the start of Jan !)

  • Breakfast one scrambled egg and half a big venison sausage
  • handful of cashews
  • Lunch half an aubergine with some avocado and pickled veg ( lunch out - gawd I miss toasted paninis)
  • Dinner homemade chicken curry with some cauliflower rice ( the frozen stuff from Tescos is ok)

I had a couple of drinks over the weekend- hard seltzer so not hugely calorific and some of DHs crisps, so I'm hoping I've sustained my weight loss tomorrow.

Protein shake and a kiwi after the gym
2 veggie sausages and 2 scrambled eggs with spinach
Roasted Mediterranean veg with vivera plant based salmon
A giant lollipop because they're my biggest vice

9 million cups of tea, 2L water, coke zero

Getthefiregoing · 06/02/2023 21:36

Breakfast: either fruit loaf toasted with butter, scrambled eggs and toast, or toast with avocado and fried egg. If I'm having breakfast in my favourite café I'll get French toast with maple syrup.

Lunch: soup or leftovers from dinner, so could be anything! If particularly hungry a tuna melt toastie with tomato soup.

Dinner: the dinners we have most often are chicken risotto, Cullen skink, chilli with rice, guacamole and sour cream, baked potatoes with various fillings, curry, salmon and veg, spaghetti Bolognese. Use the slow cooker as much as possibly.

MamaMiaOhDear · 06/02/2023 21:48

Pre breakfast - Cappuccino (2 sugars), and Breakfast biscuits/bake.

Breakfast - Banana and chocolate chip oats.

Lunch - Crumpets, apple, protein yoghurt.

Dinner - Chicken Quesadillas with cajun fries (homemade).

Snacks - Protein bar, mini cookies, some chocolate.

I'm a healthy weight, size 10 and 5ft9.

Evanna13 · 06/02/2023 21:51

B 2 slices of toast with butter, tea
L home made leek and potato soup with half a bagel, sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream
D slow cooked beef with mashed potato, carrots and peas

I am a size 10, 5'6, 41.
The pudding was unusual for me but I would usually have a treat every day eg kit kat, nutty Lindt choc etc
I never eat after dinner so fast 12-14 hours every day.
I have a glass of wine at weekends.
I walk 10k steps per day usually.

MegBusset · 06/02/2023 21:52

Mini Shredded Wheats with almond milk
Two finger KitKat
Pasta pot
Curly Wurly
Spaghetti with tomato sauce
Double Decker (small multipack size)

Usually I have more veg than this. I have a major sweet tooth so the spaced-out intake of chocolate helps me regulate this!

Have lost 6lb since Jan.

Today I had -

Lunch: French toast (MIL also made this)

Tea: Katsu chicken & rice

Snacks: a cookie after tea

My BMI is in the overweight category (70kg at 5'1). Baby is only 5mo though so that's my excuse...
Usually go to the gym a couple of times a week but have a sore wrist at the moment so haven't been able to use any weights and I hate cardio!

Maternityleavelady · 06/02/2023 22:44

Breakfast: golden syrup porridge with extra plain oats because it's never enough!

Lunch: Brussels sprouts, ham and cheddar cheese (everything thinks this is weird but I love it haha)

Dinner: hoisin chicken noodle stir fry

Dessert: mint cornetto, 8 piece of mint cadburys chocolate, a toffee yogurt

Snacks: packet of mints, couple of Percy pigs

This is a v typical day for me. And I know I need to curb my number of after dinner desserts but I'm not fat so I crack on and enjoy it.

JackieDaws · 06/02/2023 19:53

No breakfast
Lunch - apple with plain cottage cheese.

Dinner - smoked haddock, broccoli, carrots, baby corn and peas.

No snacks.
Drinks - water, a Costa large skinny latte, and a litre of sugar free Fanta.

I eat this way every day and have done for 10 years.

Blimey, poor you!

ChatInMyFlat · 06/02/2023 23:22

I'm pretty strict ATM and only eating when very hungry.

During the week I tend to only eat once a day at about 4pm - usually chicken salad (with bacon and grilled veg) or a veg and lentil curry with cauliflower rice.

At weekend I'll add fruit/yogurt/nuts or an omelette for lunch.

I have a couple of coffees a day plus 2l of water.

Squishedstormtrooper · 06/02/2023 23:31

Today is a typical day but not very healthy!

B- handful of cheerio’s straight out of the box
L- greggs chicken club baguette
D- spaghetti bolognese

also had a bag of walkers ready salted, 4 cups of tea and a latte.

My BMI is 24 and I run a 5k about 3 times a week.

IclimbedSnowdon · 06/02/2023 23:41

Breakfast: Large banana and a glass of milk

Lunch: Medium size jacket potato with baked beans and salad

Snack: Apple and two babybel lights

Dinner: Chicken stir fry with mushrooms and noodles

Approximately one litre of water and a can of Pepsi Max

Tintackedsea · 06/02/2023 23:45

B= Boiled egg and half a slice of soldiers; other half slice with marmalade; small glass of fresh orange with my iron.

L= Sometimes soup and oatcakes and some fruit. Sometimes leftovers. Sometimes nothing because I am too busy.

D= usually something vegetarian but not always. Tonight was cauliflower cake, salad and spuds. Last night was prawn and pea curry. Saturday was aubergine and ricotta pasta.

Snacks = crisps (usually French fries) or a yoghurt or a bit of home baking (keep hens so I'm always using up eggs). 1 cup of coffee. Lots of herbal tea.

I'm overweight because I love food and wine. I'm past caring tbh. I'll get to the dieting when I can cope with the mental load.

Killingitinhollywood · 06/02/2023 23:54

Phew, normally these threads are full of people wondering why on earth other posters can't possibly manage 10 different fruit and veg on any given day, far more realistic today.

B: muesli and tea
L: boiled eggs, white toast and tea
D: filled pasta and shop bought tom sauce

Snacks/drinks : hot chocolate, Jaffa cakes, cashew nuts, dried apricots, pouch of baby food (don't ask) milkshake
