Traumatic vaginal injury....

I am currently sat in A and E, just been triaged and given morphine, I have about a 2 hour wait to see a doctor. Can MN keep me awake/company?
I fell onto a stairgate while jumping over it (lazy), and landed across it, my vagina took my weight, and I have a laceration almost completely through my labia. It's excruciating and I feel sick. What an idiot!

Ouch. If you've been given morphine, I'd have a sleep for a bit.

Jessmary94 · 14/11/2021 10:39

Bettyboop3 · 14/11/2021 10:43

Oh my god you poor thing that sounds nasty. Are you by yourself? Has the morphine kicked in yet?

enjoyingscience · 14/11/2021 10:44

Ouch. Hope you get seen to soon. I’m so glad we’ve no stair gates left!

Okbutnotgreat · 14/11/2021 10:53

Omg @Worried234 has just brought back a recurring nightmare from secondary school about compulsory high jump[confusedShock

Really hope you get seen soon and it’s all fixable.

Worried234 · 14/11/2021 11:05

Hi everyone, thank you. Can't sleep as am sat on a chair in the waiting room. Got about an hours wait left now. Pain subsiding a little, but feel very very woozy. Really feel stupid being here for this, but it definitely needs to be stitched.

PS Yes I am by myself. Nobody is allowed to accompany me, due to Covid restrictions. OH dropped me off.

Ouch! Poor you! That sounds so painful. Hope you get seen soon.

Bettyboop3 · 14/11/2021 11:22

Shame OH isn't allowed in to keep you company. I took mine Fri & was allowed in all areas with him as long as i wore my mask. I didn't have to keep being told either - unlike Boris!!

Worried234 · 14/11/2021 11:56

Ouch!!! Hope you’re sorted out soon.

MeadowHay · 14/11/2021 12:00

Hope you're ok OP. Not the same but I'm 4w PP and not having a great recovery from episiotomy (again - had a time of it with my first too), and perineal pain can be so so so painful and difficult to manage. That's before you even get to the embarrassment factor - not that there should be one but it can feel difficult to talk about it. Demand as much pain relief as you need - if you're stitched make sure you get good pain relief for it and good pain relief to take home on discharge as I'd imaigne it would take a least a few weeks to heal.

VodselForDinner · 14/11/2021 12:01

I just winced reading that. You poor thing.

Hope you get sorted and are on the mend very soon.
