Traumatic vaginal injury....

I am currently sat in A and E, just been triaged and given morphine, I have about a 2 hour wait to see a doctor. Can MN keep me awake/company?
I fell onto a stairgate while jumping over it (lazy), and landed across it, my vagina took my weight, and I have a laceration almost completely through my labia. It's excruciating and I feel sick. What an idiot!

My sister tore into her labia during childbirth. It was painful but healed really fast (she was fully healed there within 2-3 weeks). Get them to give you the antiseptic cream made of honey to put on the wound when you’re out.

Ouch! Reminds me of the time I slipped in the shower and landed arse first on a shampoo bottle (from that day onwards I always put them on the side of the bath, never inside it). I got sent to a&e, fortunately just a little cut and no stitches.

Hope you're on the mend really soon OP

I did this when I was little - I slid on the bath as I was getting out. I still remember the pain, makes me feel ill still 30 years later. My mum had to call the GP out.

Hope you are ok x

I work as a nurse practitioner in A&E, I saw a lady who had a similar injury. I referred her to gynaecology & they saw her in their emergency clinic the next day (less than 12 hours away as this was on a night shift) for stitches

That sounds awful op. I once had a bang in that area and that was sore enough. I hope you feel better soon. Hugs to you x

snapple21 · 14/11/2021 13:44

You poor thing. I'd be wanting a Gynae doc to suture it correctly I think!

Worried234 · 14/11/2021 13:47

Hello. Thanks for all your replies.

I'm home now. The doctors decided not to stitch it, as it had stooped bleeding. I've got to have saltwater baths and let it heal by itself.
Apparently it will heal fairly quickly as it's such a vascular area.
I feel exhausted, probably from the morphine. Also now the shock and panic has worn off, I'm just drained. I'm going to fold my laundry then go to bed for an hour!

Sod the laundry! Get to bed!

Jennalong · 15/11/2021 12:56

Hopefully things are less sore today op ?

Worried234 · 16/11/2021 23:54

@Jennalong Much less sore. Still hurts to wee. Thanks for checking Smile

I feel your pain....aah it wasn't less than a hell! I hit my vagina over a ramp while skateboarding and THAT THING had bruises for days. There were no external injury but doctor said that I had broken tissues inside. I could barely walk straight and sitting was even worse!! I hope you get recovered soon.
