Phenergan for sleep?

This has been recommended to me by a psychiatrist today to try and help my sleep problems. I'm currently using melatonin (3mg) which hasn't helped me much and he actually said melatonin isn't really helpful unless you're a child or over 55 apparently! (My gp recommended it to me ages ago so unsure as to why she'd do that if it's not very effective!Envy)

Has anyone had any luck/good experiences/bad experiences with promethazine? I'm so exhausted, barely getting 2 hours of sleep a night. Sad

What he means is that it is only licenced for this age group so go can't prescribe.

It's available I er the counter in the us and you can buy online. The best product is the slow release one which I think is 10mg, the highest dose in the USA.

Amitriptyline is without a doubt the best sleep medication but it does come with side effects for most and often lose its efficaciry over time, hence increasing the dose and I creasing the side effects. It is possible to take it as and when though.
