Shaking uncontrollably

Please can someone calm me down. I went to bed and then suddenly starting shaking. My whole body, I also felt cold. It was terrifying. It came and when 3 times in about 15 minutes. I'd had a few drinks this evening and wondered if it could be that. If anyone can offer any advice I would really appreciate it thanks.

It sounds like you had a couple of seizures (you can be lucid throughout). As they were your first I would definitely go to hospital. Do you have someone who can drive you?

NewjobOldme · 28/03/2021 02:25

Did you take your temperature?

YellowPurple · 28/03/2021 02:26

Could be a nerve thing or a temperature.

No-one could really advise you

I shake when im in pain or when i vomit

Saltyslug · 28/03/2021 02:30

Call 119 if this is your first seizure. Important to seek advice tonight and be checked over if necessary.

cultkid · 28/03/2021 02:31

Could be a panic attack

Could you move

YellowPurple · 28/03/2021 02:32

Salty meant 111 not 119

Saltyslug · 28/03/2021 02:32

length of seizure start to finish is important to note. 15 minutes is quite a long time so 119 may want to send an ambulance

Saltyslug · 28/03/2021 02:33

Thankyou yellow 111

MummaPI · 28/03/2021 03:08

Yes I could move, not sure about a seizure. I didn't take my temperature

How do you feel now?

MummaPI · 28/03/2021 03:18

I managed to get to sleep but now awake and feel panicky

NewjobOldme · 28/03/2021 03:19

With the feeling cold and the shaking it sounds like rigors.
I had them after my covid vaccination. My temperature was high.

GoodNewsAhead · 28/03/2021 03:21

Maybe try 111 online to put your mind at rest.

MummaPI · 28/03/2021 03:21

It felt like a panic attack but like nothing I've had before. I'm wondering if its the alcohol I had. I'm scared it could be seizures

DaisyChainsForever · 28/03/2021 03:25

How do you feel other than that? Shaking was one of my 1st covid symptoms, coupled with sweating and chills at the same time (as well as a sore throat).

MummaPI · 28/03/2021 03:30

I've got a bit of an upset stomach. I do lateral flow twice a week as I work in a school so hoping that would have picked up covid. I do appreciate you all talking to me. My heat rate is slightly up now and then but that's not unusual since the perimenopause. I have my period at the moment.

I’ve had rigors before op and it’s a horrendous feeling. Have you checked your temp again? Unless your heart rate is over 100 when you’re at rest try not to worry. 🤗 and 💐

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 28/03/2021 04:16

Do you use tampons?

justilou1 · 28/03/2021 06:32

You could have an infection, you could need your thyroid tested. I think you need to see a doctor ASAP with these symptoms.

MummaPI · 28/03/2021 08:24

Morning everyone,
Thank you all for replying. The weird thing is I didnt feel ill at all. My BP was 85bpm just felt like it was beating out of my chest. Ill check my temp now. I do use tampons. I had blood tests about 6 weeks ago and thyroid ok.
Other than tired I feel OK today. Its scared me though.

Your BP is two numbers , not one, do you mean your pulse was 85 ? If so, that’s normal for me.

MummaPI · 28/03/2021 08:33

No temperature

Oh yes sorry, I meant my pulse.

Obviously need to not have a drink tonight and do some relaxation things before bed. Try not to overthink it or you will get anxious.

raffle · 28/03/2021 08:42

I agree with others that it sounds like a rigor. I get these whenever I have an infection. I also get them if my body has had a ‘trauma’ (after tooth extraction, after planned csec).

They are horrible! I have to go to bed and just wait for it to pass (while covered with every blanket in the house!)

Sometimes I don’t know I’ve even got an infection until I have a rigor. Twice I’ve had one and gone to bed. Woken up feeling fine, but with the start of a UTI.
