to try microdosing?

I have been dealing with constant migraines for 20 + years now. I have tried so many preventatives over the decades and none work well or for long. I've done various clinical trials and non licensed medications / treatments and I still spend 20 or more days a month dealing with migraines. I do get some relief with pain killers, naproxen and co-codamol and i use sumatriptan but these drugs can't be used all the time so the majority of the time I just have to suffer them.

I am done with it, I haven't had a life due to migraine, I have no job, no children, very few friends, I've hardly travelled and I'm too ill most of the time for a rewarding hobby. If i do get a day where I am not in pain all I can do is try to catch up on all the things that must be done before I'm taken out by another migraine.

I have heard a lot of good things about microdosing for migraine and I want to try it. I have no idea how and i know its not legal but I don't care. I should be able to try if it might help me live with less pain and have a more normal life. I would go as far to say that I don't believe any judge or jury would convict me for doing it.

I have no interest in being high or tripping, I just want a normal life!

@librarydiscard Then I can see why you are looking at other avenues. I did see a consultant neurologist who said that it was useful to try all the triptains as some work better for particular people than others.

@abonae I have actually tried them all and have prescriptions for both eletriptan and sumatriptan which is unusual and can cause issues when getting the script filled or with gps but its been ok'd by my neurologist. These two work best for me and hit different receptors (eletriptan is unique amongst triptans). However I am still limited to how many I can take and they don't always work.

The op sounds at the end of their tether and seems to have exhausted all other options so probably feels pissed off being told about common stuff already tried.

But assuming this is the case, YABU. They are illegal for a reason.

The classification and legality of drugs is sadly very political. You can't really assume much from a drug's classification in terms of it's safety (or not).

I realise that. So I tend to think if it’s illegal, I won’t recommend it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

How many iatrogenic deaths in the UK each year? How many worldwide from truffles or shrooms?

Any pointers re: the Mexican type/method, anyone?! I'm living with chronic trigeminal neuralgia (seems to have usurped my migraines 🙄) and my feeling is that nature probably knows best. I'd be into trying some sort of entheogenic treatment pathway at this point...

I'd try it in your position. An ex of mine was a cluster migraine sufferer and I researched it on his behalf. How something that grows on the side of the mountain up by me here can be made illegal is ridiculous 🙄
