I don't get how big she wanted it to be, he's 7 wks old fgs

she even wrote it in his book, ?small penis? and very helpfully didn't tell me why she wrote it in there, what if anything it could mean or anything else, just hmm I am a bit worried that his penis is quite small we will keep an eye on it!

So me being me, I went and googled it and am now having panics about micropenises and the like. Anybody else have any experience of this?

TIA

what an odd thing to say. and even more odd that she didn't say why she wrote it.
I wouldn't worry too much tbh, but you can always ask the HV or someone if you want reassurance

ibroughtcake · 10/10/2007 20:02

I don't know why she said 'we'll keep an eye on it' I though it very strange

now he's got 'small penis' written in his book till he is 18

same thing happened to me pruners only this baby boys one was really wide.

Basically they all come in all different sizes and they are all normal and at 7 weeks to write that with no explanation is not right.

ibroughtcake · 10/10/2007 20:12

AFAIK she doesn't have any children, but she also said he had big testicals sp? so maybe it just looks small in comparison!

at the boy with the huge one though!

Some children can have problems though - I know someone who will have an operation later in life, because it is so small - not to worry you, I'm sure it's fine, but that's probably why!

ibroughtcake · 10/10/2007 20:14

But if she thought there was a problem shouldn't she of said come back in 6mths or whatever to get it checked again

Not just 'sorry mate you've got a tiddler' and see you later

Oh crikey - ds had "small chin" in his red book at the 6/8 week check. Was mightily affonted with that (has gorgeous chin). Think would have imploded if it'd been his penis.

ibroughtcake · 10/10/2007 20:25

small chin??? why the hell would you ever write that in a red book

Happynow · 10/10/2007 20:26

Think she should have explained the ramifications. Think you're entitled to ask at the very least. My ds is 3 and I think his willy is small (though perfectly formed) compared to some of his friends. Never had "small penis" put on any of his notes though. Would have been pretty p*ssed off with that and no explanation!

NAB3 · 10/10/2007 20:27

If it was me, I would tippex it out and demand she explain herself. Stupid woman.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/10/2007 20:29

I am so sorry, but I am PMSL at this thread....

GP sounds like a nob. See if you can see another GP at the practice to confirm?

ibroughtcake · 10/10/2007 20:32

VVV, don't worry it is rather funny, although DP is keeping rather quite on the subject

I think I will ask the hv next time I see her if she can take a look

Fireflyfairy2 · 10/10/2007 20:32

I'm with NAb... in fact I have a tippex pen right here

I wonder what size she was expecting it to be for 7 weeks....

Hey, tell you what, I pity her husband!!!!!!!!!!!

ibroughtcake · 10/10/2007 20:38

She is a rather strange doctor overall to be honest, she never wears shoes and sits with her feet up on the chair which just seems wrong to me and today she was sporting a lovely shade of glittery gold nail varnish

I checked with my normal GP later on, because it did play on my mind a bit. She said not to worry = and that at the 8 week check it pays to be thorough.

Happynow · 10/10/2007 20:41

Maybe she's a bit bored? Looking for a reaction?
