I don't get how big she wanted it to be, he's 7 wks old fgs

she even wrote it in his book, ?small penis? and very helpfully didn't tell me why she wrote it in there, what if anything it could mean or anything else, just hmm I am a bit worried that his penis is quite small we will keep an eye on it!

So me being me, I went and googled it and am now having panics about micropenises and the like. Anybody else have any experience of this?

TIA

no she didn't mean foreskin

i have just looked again and she has written

testes (with 2 arrows pointing down, so I guess she means descended) ?small penis? ?fat pad?

what the hell does fat pad mean!

ds2 had a small wily and huge bollox

turned outherhad a 'buried' penis and the doctors ahd to 'keep and eye on it' - he is fine now though - not small and boloox fine too

sure he would love the fact that I hacve written that

i have seen some baby boys with a big fat pad that kind of overhangs a smallish penis and makes it look smaller
i am unclear what the point of pointing this out is as que sera sera?

hypospadias (sp) boys sometimes have small ones but that would have been detected by now

seems silly to me - i would ignore

BeetrootMNRoyalty · 10/10/2007 20:59

don't let them snip the foreskin - took ds1 to Great OPrmaond Street for a check up and she coped a look at ds2 for me - she told me what is was and said some doctors recommend snipping the foreskin BUT this can lead to the penis being completely buried

My ds has small penis too. The gp has said it was because of his "lard pouch", that bit of fat between his belly and his penis. If you draw that back his whole willy suddenly appears! I did ask the gp if this was the medical term for it, and he said yes!

ds ain't bothered by it - yet! I did worry about how he'll cope standing up to wee as it seems too small for him to hold properly, but as it turns out, he has weed standing up a couple of times so everything is ok.

This is why I love mumsnet, just changed his nappy and pressed down on the said fat pad and out popped his willy

He hasn't got a small dinger he's just chubby

Hoorah

Will reassure DP he just has a larger "fat pad" next time

somegirlsarebiggerthanothers · 10/10/2007 22:16

Anyway, as DH often reminds me, size when flaccid bears little relationship to size when engorged. Not sure why he feels the need to remind me of that, but might be reassuring.

I'm so glad you posted this thread. I have been debating posting a similar thread for ages but wasn't sure how to word it. When my DS was born, the registrar muttered when she examined his genitals and then walked away. The next day, another one came round and I asked her if there was anything wrong with his penis. She poked it a bit and said in a really haughty tone 'well it is a bit small but no, I don't think there is anything wrong particularly.' Which made me feel terrible. I have been worrying that girls will laugh at him and he won't be able to get a girlfriend and all sorts of stupid stuff

I don't have a DP (my DS was conceived using donor sperm) so wondered if his dad had a really teeny penis but obviously I have no way of knowing. I am assuming most of you have DPs and you haven't had any problems with them
