What shampoo relieves scalp psoriasis itching?

I use betacap, but try to limit how often so as not to get rebound problems. My head is so itchy though. Is there a shampoo that really helps? I've tried Body shop ginger shampoo, polytar, t-gel, one prescribed by my gp that is red ... nothing helps. Gp reluctant to prescribe anything else, so it needs to be something I can buy in Boots etc.

Thanks.

Thanks lazymum.

I've wrapped my head in an old muzzie. I can't believe how much oil my dry scalp absorbed! I'll try the nit comb suggestion in the morning.

Be warned it is quite disgusting when all those bits of oily skin are in the comb! But oddly satisfying.

Just back to update and say that the olive oil worked really well and I got tons of the scales out this morning. It was FOUL. The smell suggests to me that there is some sort of infection which I suppose isn’t surprising given the scale (pun intended Grin) of the problem. Some of the scales were a couple of CM long before they broke down and very thick.

I added conditioner to my hair to help the comb slip through. I found my normal plastic comb kinder on my hair than the nitty gritty so mostly used that. Then I washed my hair thoroughly with Alphosyl.

My scalp does feel a bit traumatised after all that though and I probably only managed to remove 60% of it. I'll have another go in a few days time.

Sorry to witter - main reason for posting is to give a positive review for using olive oil!
