A safe has dropped on my head, yes really

Opened the wardrobe, crouched down to reach in to the back and the little safe box on the top shelf fell onto my head. I feel like Wiley coyote!

I screamed and fell over, but don't think I blacked out. DH has made me lie down and I have a slight headache and have taken paracetamol. Do I need to do anything else? He's just weighed it and it's 1st 2lbs.

Do I need to do anything else?

If you have an egg shaped bump you need to push it back in.

Being serious - if you have a headache it might be an idea to phone 111.

ScreamingValenta · 11/04/2019 16:55

I would get yourself checked out ASAP in A&E - you may have concussion.

SaskiaRembrandt · 11/04/2019 16:56

OMG! I just noticed it weighs 1 stone - I misread it as 1lb and thought it was very small. Definitely phone 111! Or even go to A&E you could have at the very least have concussion, if not a fractured skull.

Sexnotgender · 11/04/2019 16:59

I’d phone 111 and ask for advice!

Over a stone of metal is very hefty.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 11/04/2019 17:03

How far did it fall?

MrsMozartMkII · 11/04/2019 17:05

A&E.

If you don't remember if you blacked out then there's a good chance you did.

Do you feel sick at all?

I type as someone who fell off her horse and hit her head. A bleed on the brain is no fun! Even if it's not a bleed, that's a serious amount of weight to have land on your head!

JohnWolfenstein · 11/04/2019 17:22

Thanks everyone. Called 111 and now off to A&E.

It fell about a meter and a half off the top shelf of the wardrobe.

Ouch! Good luck at A&E

MrsMozartMkII · 11/04/2019 18:23

Glad you're going to get checked out. Hope all is okay.

TheInvestigator · 11/04/2019 18:25

Totally off point but is it an actual safe? Or just a cash box?

An actual safe should be bolted to the floor or wall, or someone could just come in and steal the whole safe!

OldAndWornOut · 11/04/2019 18:27

It should be named an unsafe.

Theninjawhinger · 11/04/2019 18:35

Bless you! A wardrobe fell on me once and I was trapped inside it. I felt like I was in a slap stick comedy then too!

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 11/04/2019 18:47

The door of our car boot fell on my head a while ago; both hydraulic arms failed so there was nothing to hold it up. It's a hatchback, so heavy. It wasn't fun.

MrsMozartMkII · 11/04/2019 18:50

OldAndWornOut that made me giggle, ta.

UtterlyUnimainativeUsername ouch. Lots of ouches!

Apoiads · 11/04/2019 18:52

Lol. Sorry, but how much dosh was in that safe?

TheChippendenSpook · 11/04/2019 18:54

That wasn't very safe to have it on a high shelf Wink

Seriously though... hope you're ok!

Heathcliff27 · 11/04/2019 18:58

Stay safe op

SnapesGreasyHair · 11/04/2019 18:59

If you have an egg shaped bump you need to push it back in.

Errrrr....why?

Mapril · 11/04/2019 19:00

High shelf and a heavy safe.

That's a bad combination

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 11/04/2019 19:02

If it makes you feel better i once stepped on the garden rake and it swung up and smacked me in the face Grin

ThanosSavedMe · 11/04/2019 19:07

Fuck! Hope you’re ok

JohnWolfenstein · 11/04/2019 19:09

It's a fire safe. So passports, birth certificates and that kind of stuff in it, but it's made of concrete surrounded in plastic. No actual valuables in it.

Will be moving it to a lower location asap.

Still waiting in A&E. Headache and neck ache and feel pretty wobbly and nauseous. Also running out of phone charge Shock

elephantoverthehill · 11/04/2019 19:10

I hope you get through A&E quickly. I'm sorry but you are going to get the giggles when you describe the accident to the triage nurse. I hope all will be ok.

HollowTalk · 11/04/2019 19:12

That sounds terrible! Hope you're okay.

CottonSock · 11/04/2019 19:12

I hope you get seen and feel better soon
