Hope it's not worms. What else could be giving me an itchy bum?

I've named changed for this as it's a bit .

My bum is really really itchy. I can't see any worms in my poo but haven't yet had DH shine a lit up my arse in the night looking for worms. Romantic or what!!

There are a few little white spots beside by bumhole and I wondered if anyone could give me an idea what they might be. I really don't want it to be worms!!!!!

Piles?

Or the white spots could be thrush (and yes, you can get it round there)!

foxinsocks · 12/07/2007 20:21

itchy bum - factsheet

ItchyBum · 12/07/2007 20:21

Don't think it's piles. Ah, didn't think about thrush, wouldn't do any harm to get the old Canesten out, would it?

Ah ha. Very informative factsheet foxinsocks. I have changed my name accordingly

Carmione · 12/07/2007 20:25

Take some acidophulus tablets. I'll bet it is an overgrowth of yeast. Do you have athletes foot atm too?

foxinsocks · 12/07/2007 20:27

yes, I quite like that factsheet .

We went through a stage last year where we had worms 3 times in a row (arrghh - finally realised we seemed to be getting it from a public sandpit - stopped visiting and worms were gone). I became very au fait with Pruritus Ani.

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 20:27

Yes, I do. And for the last two months have had a visit from the songbird at the same point in my cycle

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 20:28

Will also try the acidophulus

foxinsocks · 12/07/2007 20:29

with worms, you normally get this unsettling 'emerging' feeling

if you can see white blobs and they aren't wriggling, it's probably thrush (luvvvvvvvverly)

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 20:33

Do they come out at all through the day? Or is is just at night like all the blurb says?

Maybe I've just got a hairy bum! The factsheet says "Young children who may not wipe themselves properly, adults with sweaty jobs, and adults with a lot of hair round their anus may be especially prone to this."

winegumss · 12/07/2007 20:33

piles can start as a stange itchy feeling, then goes onto a painful feeling. have another look - really. the white spots we probably loo roll !!

moondog · 12/07/2007 20:33

It's not because you are a......

Beginner to Bum Sex is it????????

foxinsocks · 12/07/2007 20:35

'adults with sweaty jobs' could be a euphemism for so many things

generally, ahem, we have found that they emerge in the evening/night time.

elasticbandstand · 12/07/2007 20:35

just take the medicine [groin}

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 20:35

Wow!! A hole fifteen minutes before somebody mentions bumsex!!!

foxinsocks · 12/07/2007 20:36

perhaps you don't wipe your bum properly either

and then you could tick all the categories

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 20:36

definitely not loo roll winegumms. Really don't think it's piles, but will keep that in mind too

moondog · 12/07/2007 20:37
