Hope it's not worms. What else could be giving me an itchy bum?

I've named changed for this as it's a bit .

My bum is really really itchy. I can't see any worms in my poo but haven't yet had DH shine a lit up my arse in the night looking for worms. Romantic or what!!

There are a few little white spots beside by bumhole and I wondered if anyone could give me an idea what they might be. I really don't want it to be worms!!!!!

we'll need updates now

what you're doing to stop your sweaty job and how quickly your anal hair is growing back

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 20:49

Perhaps I could wax my anal hair. [joke] At least it would mean I could wear hipsters without it sticking out the top tangled in my thong

mamimwnci · 12/07/2007 20:51

When my ds had worms the doc said that the white spot like stuff round your itch bum are the eggs that the worms 'come out' at night to lay.

I know it's embarrasing but go to the docs and just tell them you've got worms & he'll give you some medicine to take to get rid.. you won't have to show him your itchy bum !

Also dose the whole family while your at it as they have quite a long life cycle..and wash all bed linen & towels when you do.

Good luck try not to scratch!!!

To answer OP

Ants in your pants?

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 20:53

Hmm, most of the stuff says that the eggs aren't visible to the naked eye though. Could be a doc that knows something or nothing!

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 20:59

YouDontHave2BPosh2BPrivileged I am trying to think of a witty reply, but have failed miserably...

YouDontHave2BPosh2BPrivileged · 12/07/2007 20:59

Snickers in your knickers?

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 21:00

Critters in my skitters

YouDontHave2BPosh2BPrivileged · 12/07/2007 21:03

something wrong in your thong?

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 21:12

Zoomers in my bloomers

elasticbandstand · 12/07/2007 21:15

to find out if you have eggs, put some sellotape there, first thing and pull off to see .... goon try it

elasticbandstand · 12/07/2007 21:15

it is an established method i promise

YouDontHave2BPosh2BPrivileged · 12/07/2007 21:16

Something to report in your shorts?

Darn, I can't think of any more

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 21:19

I read that somewhere elasticbandstand but it says that you then have to stick the tape on a slide and send it to the lab to be checked under the microscope as the eggs aren't visable to the naked eye

elasticbandstand · 12/07/2007 21:23

ooooh, may be not then?

SlightlyMadSpider · 12/07/2007 21:27

BUt I think you can stick brown tape over your hole overnight and see if any worms are stuck to in in the morning [vomit].

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 21:32

Wow, two for the price of one SlightlyMadSpider. A worm detector AND a wax in one go!

jellyjelly · 12/07/2007 21:35

thats interesting slightly will remember that tip.

I thought my ds has worms as he had itchy bum but good old canestan helped and he has not complained since.

SlightlyMadSpider · 12/07/2007 21:40

Well as a family we are currently suffering worms. I think I have them - although not ruling out phsycological causes...

I would describe the 'itchy' sensation as more of a light tickle, and isn't actually 100% limited to the nighttime.

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 21:44

I sleep like a log so if it is worms, they could be having a party in bum and I wouldn't notice.

PruritusAni · 12/07/2007 22:19

Right I am away to bed with a torch and some brown tape and some canasten on my bum for good measure!!

Going to change my name back as will probably out myself tomorrow by posting something revealing in my normal name

Filchymindedvixen · 12/07/2007 22:30

Oh lordy, this thread has had me PMSL.
May I recommend Ovex from the pharmacist. One tablet each for the family and a change of bedsheets and you can put this all 'behind' you. . .

PruritusAni · 14/07/2007 14:04

Don't reckon it's worms. I've been using Canestan and the itch has gone and the white spots are disappearing.
I never knew you could get thrush up your bum. You learn something new every day!

foxinsocks · 14/07/2007 16:34

excellent! hope it stays away
