Welcome to the new thread, and the club that nobody wants to join. Our previous thread is here

Anyone with any type of cancer is welcome. And we will hold your hand if you're waiting to find out whether or not you have cancer at all.

If you have a loved one with cancer you can get support on a different thread here

For old and new posters it's very helpful if you (re)introduce yourself in your first post with a summary of your diagnosis (chemo brain is a real thing and my memory isn't what it used to be!).

I’m ok thanks leslie, the anastrozole has wrecked some of my joints so I’m a bit creaky but it’s nothing really. The husband of one of my best friends was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in August and has just done five weeks of rads/oral chemo and is now awaiting surgery and more chemo. It’s brought a lot of feelings back that were beginning to dim as I’ve been trying to support and help them. It’s brought me back to this thread even though I don’t post much and not many people would know me now, but it’s a comfort. Having said that it’s very upsetting to read so many familiar names facing such horrible times.

They've sent me home with zero pain medication and no anti sickness medication at all.

Honestly what is so God damn difficult about people doing their jobs? I've had the same medication now for 6 cycles and 4 of them have gotten it wrong. I bloody despair of my profession I really do.

When an error was made on my shift I moved heaven and earth to fix it there and then. Not send the patient off with a pat on the head and tell them "oh well try tomorrow" I'm just a fucking number to them.

And as for attending addenbrooks again I'm fucking dreading attending as it's a bus then a bus then a trek halfway across the city to another bus. And i have anxiety at the best of times. Plus this is costing me a fortune. £10 per appointment and £15for addenbrooks. Waiting for a letter to reclaim these costs.

Oh God Pandora that’s really bad. I have had the same a couple of times; not been given steroids twice now and no blood form for the next time. When you are exhausted after chemo it really shouldn’t be down to the patient to check they have the right meds.

The hospital journey sounds horrendous & really not do-able for you. Would you qualify for patient transport? I can’t see why you wouldn’t given that journey.

Flowers mrsrhod I'm sure they have really appreciated your support, but sorry about the tricky memories. And the creaky joints!

Pandora what a nightmare. Can you speak to PALS? Not that you should have to, obviously. When do you have to go to Addenbrookes again? It's ridiculous you having to go on such a strenuous journey, especially after being told you need to reduce stress Hmm

I've been pottering about the house a bit more. Slowly gaining strength, I think. And busily crocheting/knitting to keep myself distracted :)

Sending hugs to all who need them this evening Brew

A few posts too early as I thought this was filling faster than it was Blush but here's the new thread here

Pandora I can't believe how much hassle you're having at the minute. And they want you to keep your stress levels down? Angry surely you must qualify for patient transport now

So pleased you're feeling better Leslie Smile**

Off to look for the new thread, but just wanted to send best wishes to pandora in particular

I am very cross on your behalf about the lack of care, and so sorry to read about your current heart problems. It’s so fucking unfair sometimes
