Cappuccino · 03/06/2007 20:24

so here we all are again for week 2

I have just made Joshi's chicken curry which was received heartily by dh ('you've made a curry? and this is detoxing?') tho a little less so when he realised it did not have any heat in it

v nice, but faffy

with spinach and rice (brown of course)

still tired though, and no-one has told me I look amazing as Joshi promises

and still have thrush

never mind, chin up, almond nut butter still exists

god I admire you

you are doing so well

please keep it up and tell us if it works

Cappuccino · 03/06/2007 20:29

thanks for the pep talk Enid

this is officially my worst night

I am doing the ironing in a basement room full of wine

and this morning I made Pruni's chocolate biscuit recipe to take to dd's Rainbow cake stall and couldn't even bloody taste one

lol t your thread title, sorry ou're feeling crap Capp (ooo it rhymes), come over to 10yy any time you want, we're v crap but quite happy!

Enid · 03/06/2007 20:30

you are more of a woman than me

honestly I know I have sniped about detoxes

but I know how thrush can be a nightmare

think you are doing so well and keeping your sense of humour (on here at least)

FrannyandZooey · 03/06/2007 20:31

oooh

just ooooooh at your thread title

Enid · 03/06/2007 20:34

(i know its brilliant istn it)

Cappuccino · 03/06/2007 20:34

www I come on your 10yy thread every so long

I go 'here I am' and reannounce myself and everyone says hello warmly

and then I don't look at the thread for about an hour and thirty messages are posted and I go 'oh god that's far too much to read' so I leave it

and then spend 40 minutes prannying around on 15 useless uninteresting thread about people's husband's teeth or what-have-you

go back and search, you'll find me every so long. For about a year.

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 03/06/2007 20:35

lol, I thought I'd seen you there now and then but didn't realise quite how lax you'd been. You can post and not read, every now and then I say 'ooh you're all so good, have a badge'

glitterfairy · 03/06/2007 20:36

Are you following a specific detox plan? Sorry I missed week one. I have done a couple of Carol V's ones but got a little bored with lack of fish.

Cappuccino · 03/06/2007 20:39

yes we are doing this one

Gwynny Paltrow says he is 'special'

Pollyanna · 03/06/2007 20:42

capp you are doing so well. I went on a picnic today and had the best of intentions with my carrot sticks and houmous, but the white baguette just called me...

I have to go away with work on Tues and Weds and have chosen the most innocuous things off the menu (fish), but am not sure if I can bear to be alcohol free - all my bosses are there!
I just lack willpower - maybe I will start again on Thursday.

glitterfairy · 03/06/2007 20:55

Thanks Capp I will look for it next week in Borders and read it over a soy latte! Are you allowed fish?

Cappuccino · 03/06/2007 21:24

Glitter yes fish no caffeine.

Cancel Latte.

I did have a decaf soya cappuccino one day this week when I was desperate for the taste of coffee.

I've just done my shopping on-line and have ordered about 4 different types of herbal tea.

I do feel much better though and don't seem to be craving sugar so much now.

Cappuccino · 04/06/2007 09:21

I have had to pack away my herbal teas - and I am building up a collection too Polly - since a woman on the thrush thread published a list of things to avoid which included herbal teas

and bananas

never mind I wandered into the world of soya porridge by mistake this morning (meant to open the rice milk box) and it was okay

and the pure yogurt

but today I have a massive period and I want coffee and chocolate

today is going to be very hard

I am sure Ibuprofen is not toxic, aren't you?

it was meant to be kidney beans and rice today but I forgot to put the beans on to soak - will do lentil pilaf instead or maybe dhal

lunch is whatever the nice soup shop has that is as near as dammit - I am back in the microwave-free office again

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 04/06/2007 09:45

It was decaf honest as well but I only do it once a week!

If fish is ok may get this book and come in here and start straight away after my low gi summer quick fix diet.

Cappuccino · 04/06/2007 09:47

you'll be very welcome

off to chop my carrots now and go to work

OP posts:
noddyholder · 04/06/2007 09:49

thanks for redirecting me

Cappuccino · 04/06/2007 20:54

well since no-one is here I will just tell the empty air about my diet today

I did very well despite nasty menstrual nastiness making me want coffee and chocolate (in a desperate moment I was to be found washing the sugary coating off a couple of Nurofen under the tap)

I had carrot soup for lunch from healthy soup shop

and lots of houmous and carrot sticks and mangetout and a crafty oatcake and nut butter

then for tea I made tarka dhal which was scrummy, with spinach and brown rice, although it did take me most of the night to make, it was a very comforting thing for a lady in pain to be having

was meant to be going to supermarket to stock up on healthy loveliness but am going to bed instead feel shite

hope everyone well and full of cabbage

Pollyanna · 04/06/2007 22:02

oh Cappuccino you are doing really well. I crumble at the sight of a coffee.
I have had oatcakes to eat today because I can't think of anything to cook. (oh and porridge with rice milk as well).

You will feel much better in a day or 2, and I will still be on day 1 (again)

I am away on my work trip first thing in the morning - I have to spend 2 days (and nights) with all the top bosses from the organisation and not drink alcohol or coffee or sneak bsicuits and appear intelligent, keen and on the ball. Can't wait

noddyholder · 04/06/2007 22:23

I have had the curry tonight a faff to make but yummy.I think the craving for sugar is leaving me this has NEVER happened to me ever before.I have also been ok about coffee.Went out to lunch today and have salmon with green salad and a bottle of water Can't believe it really but dp doing it is helping a lot.As I said before my skin looks good and I am starting to feel better but still podgy

noddyholder · 05/06/2007 06:43

Cappuccino · 05/06/2007 12:08

ooh lunch I always have a problem with that

I am taking 2 eggs to work with some rye bread to scramble in the microwave

if I'm at home I whizz up whatever veg seems the saddest and needing to be eaten with some chicken stock and make a soup

poached egg and asparagus? chicken sandwich?

some of that spicy rice warmed up?

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 06/06/2007 07:54
