Cappuccino · 03/06/2007 20:24

so here we all are again for week 2

I have just made Joshi's chicken curry which was received heartily by dh ('you've made a curry? and this is detoxing?') tho a little less so when he realised it did not have any heat in it

v nice, but faffy

with spinach and rice (brown of course)

still tired though, and no-one has told me I look amazing as Joshi promises

and still have thrush

never mind, chin up, almond nut butter still exists

MABS · 06/06/2007 15:35

noddyholder · 06/06/2007 19:56

My bbobs are still too big though but am determined to shrink them too!

noddyholder · 06/06/2007 19:56

MABS · 06/06/2007 22:55

glitterfairy · 07/06/2007 08:05

Beets what weird call?

Anyway yes I think I am as I cn eat fish. Hate Carol as you cant eat fish which I dont understand on any health level at all.

glitterfairy · 07/06/2007 08:06

Noddy my boobs have shrunk but now have saggy skin and personally prefer big boobs to that!

BeatrootandBenedick · 07/06/2007 08:06

will call

Cappuccino · 07/06/2007 09:19

here I am still just checking in

have ordered a new book, an anti-candida one, after I found that some of the things I am eating on this detox (eg nuts, bananas) are Bad from a thrush point of view

hopefully I will get some kind of pay-off eg being able to eat tomatoes

I too have lost weight - prob about 3lbs now - but problem is there is no point me going out shopping because I know it is not going to stay off once this is over!

however I am surprised by the amount of carbs I don't need compared to how much I needed - last night I had a salmon steak, asparagus and purple sprouting broccoli and then later went out for a run

previously I would have had a massive amount of couscous or pasta with it and then not been able to go out running because I was still too full

and I was not hungry

Hi Cappucinno. I've been watching this thread- well done for sticking it out! It's interesting that doing it seems to have reduced cravings for carbs, do you still crave sugar? That's my downfall I think. How has it been without coffee?

noddyholder · 07/06/2007 10:36

I had same dinner last night cappuccino!I too don't miss the carbs and am feeling more awake.Haven't missed tea and coffee at all this week

Cappuccino · 07/06/2007 11:41

great minds think alike noddy!

mango I don't crave sugar anymore

but I do crave coffee, with milk in, still

where are you all Off scoffing no doubt! Had an orange juice ice lolly so have not stuck rigidly to this and 2 glasses of sauvignon blanc last night.Annoyed with mysef really as after just 2 glasses of wine i don't look as well as I had been shows the power of alcohol I suppose.Have made a sort of thai curry for tonight Am determined to keep going though Dp folded and had a tuna sandwich which was a relief in a way as he was becoming obsessive

noddyholder · 10/06/2007 13:18

.

Cappuccino · 10/06/2007 13:55

hello I am still here

however I have slightly changed the rules for me since I now have a new cookbook - the Beat Candida one - which a mner suggested

so I cannot have some of Joshi's things eg bananas, nuts, a few other things

but I can have tomatoes and peppers back (thank god it is making salads easier!)

I absolutely positively though cannot have any wine ever ever ever or any sugar, noddy your sauvignon

today we have had salad for lunch, like yesterday, and yesterday we had tarka dhal with spinach which, though it was green, the kids actually had two mouthfuls off

tonight it is falafel

noddy how obsessive was your dp? I remember about 10 years ago I did a one day detox with dh, at about 7.30pm he just stomped off out the house and came back with a loaf of bread and a can of soup and just ate his way through the whole loaf

LOl Capp. Couldnt find the book in Borders so may have to resort to Amazon or ordering from the library.

I have done over a week of GI now and want a change. I think I am a diet slut!

Am off to gorge myself on an oatcake this minute.

noddyholder · 10/06/2007 18:19

OK my besty friend is going travelling with her dp and dd for a year and we had a farewell today 5 glasses of wine no food!Back on teh wagon tomorrow.EVERYONE noticed my skin but not the weight loss Hair appointment tomorrow I am on a mission to transform myself How sad is that at 42?

glitterfairy · 12/06/2007 11:50

How are you doing Capps? You have been quiet a while so was wondering.

Cappuccino · 12/06/2007 12:08

oh me I am doing fine

I have stopped craving chocolate

and I think - keep yourfingers crossed - my thrush seems to be getting a bit better

definitely I am less moody and cross

also lighter

dh voted to keep the chickpea falafels we had for dinner last night as a longer-term meal option

I am loving salad

and even liking rice milk porridge

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 12/06/2007 15:53

Good! I prefer soy milk myself as it is richer and rice milk seems so thin especially in drinks.

noddyholder · 12/06/2007 16:48

I have given up dairy completely as I find the alternatives vile esp the yoghurts!

Cappuccino · 13/06/2007 21:20

oh but we can have live yogurt which is cows milk

m&s do a greek one

that discovery put paid to any hope I had of losing any more weight
