DD asked 'the Question' about dh last night, and so we had to tell her the truth.

She was so brave, bless her.

Life can be so shitty sometimes. I find it hard enough to cope with it, let alone doing so at 10.

So proud of her

I think it says so much about you as parents and as a family that she felt able to ask the Question and was so brave about dealing with the reply. XXX

fryalot · 12/05/2007 13:59

what an awful thing for you to have to do.

But well done you, and well done her... you are right to be proud of her.

RTKangaMummy · 12/05/2007 14:06

I agree completely with Marina's post.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 12/05/2007 17:33

Oh bless her mb.

It's so unfair.

tortoiseSHELL · 12/05/2007 17:34

Your dd sounds lovely MB, so sorry you all are going through this. x

WideWebWitch · 12/05/2007 17:37

Oh mb, I'm so sorry my love. Much love to you, your dh and your children.

Flower3554 · 12/05/2007 17:38

Oh how brave of her and how wise of you to be truthful.
Our parents lied to us when my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and the hurt when we were finally told was indescribable.

paulaplumpbottom · 12/05/2007 17:39

There are few things I can think of that could be worse than that. I am so sorry. I can't imagine how hard that must have been. Your family is in my thoughts

edam · 12/05/2007 17:39

So sorry MB, you are quite right to be proud.

Elibean · 12/05/2007 20:45

Oh MB
Of course you are proud of her - and hope you are proud of yourself and dh too: your dd is brave enough to ask partly because she has such brave, and honest, parents.
Sending lots of love to you and your family.

brimfull · 12/05/2007 20:50

I don't know what to say, but had to say something as I'm sitting here with a tear in my eye.

Your family always sound so lovely, MB, and you are right to be proud.

I don't normally do hugs, but if I did there would be several coming your way.

Dottydot · 12/05/2007 21:17

What an incredible little girl. Lots of love and thinking of you all. xxx
