I love this site lots to mess about with BUT....

I find it cannot possibly be true

I am the heaviest i have ever been with a bmi of 22 . i look bad and flabby with horrid arms but according to these sites this is healthy.

Anyone else just find these things wrong? Some people probably look fab at this bmi but for me i look hideous... I do not understand them...

Well I am 5"4 and on the 22nd percentile with 20.3BMI so I'm pleased!

(Back in Feb I would have been on the 49th percentile with 24 BMI)

Also, I don't understand the whole BMI thing either!

I'm one of those people that has a 'normal' BMI but carries fat in the wrong place so is at a high risk of heart problems (esp with it running in my family). I have virtually no difference between my waist and hips!

So I think the moral is to take all these measurements with a pinch of salt - I suppose they are a useful guide but you need to take into account your level of fitness, family history etc. etc.

19.3

5% centile

I think BMI is a bit of phooey, muscle is heavier so althetes would be considered fat (iirc)

cylonbabe · 08/05/2007 09:52

well, my bmi has come down to 25.6 after lots of hard work. and i know i look fab comparedt o what i did a few months ago. but i still need to lose at least another stone to be in what woul dbe considered a healthy range.
all these sites have to be taken with a pinch of salt however

mustrunmore · 08/05/2007 18:41
