Day 7 of my cycle, dh and I had sex, he didn't finish inside. No protection. What are the chances of me being pregnant?? The wait until my next period has never seemed longer.

Day 14 is generally the most fertile on average, if you've a 28 day cycle. When was it? Morning after pill?

un1c0rn · 16/12/2017 05:54

Cycles vary from 22-27 days. Last cycle was 26.

You could get pregnant. If any sperm got into you, which could happen, and then stayed around until you ovulate, you could get pregnant.

I got pregnant with DD on about day 8 of my cycle.

Is the morning after pill an option?

chocolatespiders · 16/12/2017 06:03

To be safe get emergency contraception, not worth worrying about

un1c0rn · 16/12/2017 06:10

Natural cycles app says not fertile - only been using it two months though so nervous of it.

BeerBaby · 16/12/2017 06:19

There is a chance because sperm stays inside you for a few days.

LolitaLempicka · 16/12/2017 06:23

If you don't want to be pregnant why are you not using protection?

yikesanotherbooboo · 16/12/2017 06:29

If this turns out to be a 22 day cycle you could ovulate on day 8, I would suggest emergency contraception and a more failsafe plan going forward. Natural family planning is difficult with short and variable cycles.

un1c0rn · 16/12/2017 06:57

I can't take hormones. Don't want anything that'll affect my period (copper coil). So using nfp

OP posts:
OliviaBenson · 16/12/2017 06:59

NFP isn't contraception. You should only use it if you don't mind getting pregnant. Condoms?

Greenshoots1 · 16/12/2017 06:59

what do you call a couple who use natural family planning..........

Greenshoots1 · 16/12/2017 07:00

(the answer is "mummy and daddy" on the off chance tht you haven't heard it before)

Copper coils don't always cause heavier periods. What is wrong with condoms. And if you are using nfp are you going to post every month in a panic? Maybe find a more reassuring method of contraception?

SleepFreeZone · 16/12/2017 07:05

You'll be fine

wht is your problem?

You asked what the chances are that you would get pregnant this way.

I'm answering your question.

The chances are so high, that most people have heard and could complete that old quote.

if that isn't answering the question you asked then I don't know what is.

un1c0rn · 16/12/2017 07:06

Does anyone else use this?

My problem is your lack of tact. Yes you may be right but clearly I'm worried so some tact wouldn't go amiss.

Bwahaha lol

Greenshoots1 · 16/12/2017 07:11

There is no 100% guaranteed completely infertile time.

Who are you taking your information from, exactly? The ability to write and publish a glossy app doesn't make you an expert in human biology.

un1c0rn · 16/12/2017 07:12

Have I said that? Angry I use natural cycles. I take it you're totally perfect and have never slipped up ever before.

Panic - what are the chances....??
OP posts:
LolitaLempicka · 16/12/2017 07:18

But it said not fertile. If you are using this as a form of contraception, how have you slipped up? It does not sound like you completely trust it. You really should look for a more reliable contraception if you want to avoid this panic every single month.

yikesanotherbooboo · 16/12/2017 07:26

Fertile period is from 7 days before ovulation and 1-2 days after ovulation. I f you have irregular periods it is difficult to pinpoint ovulation. You also need to read cervical mucus+/-take your temperature so that you know you are past the fertile window. Fertility awareness can work well , particularly with condoms but it requires many cycles of information gathering first and commitment. On the other hand if a 100 women have unprotected sex for a year only 80-90% if them will get pregnant so you would be very unlucky as a one off.
Why don't you get a coil fitted for emergency contraception, it works very well and then you can decide whether to keep it in or not in a month or two?

un1c0rn · 16/12/2017 07:32

I really don't know what I can use.
Can't take combined pill/ring/patch
Cerazette really affected my mood
Mirena I bled incessantly
Don't want copper coil for the risk of heavy periods
