HELP - I'm in so much pain.

Bumblebee213 · 31/07/2017 19:16

As today has progressed, the pain has got increasingly worse. I'm having pain that seems to go from my hip, down my thigh (the front of my thigh) to just above my knee. It's agonising. The only thing I can think of is that I was pushing my daughter in her pushchair up a fairly steep hill with my four year old son holding on to the pushchair frame so I was having to push some of his weight too if that makes sense.

Do you think that is what has caused this? The pain is really sore now and I have health anxiety so I end up panicking. I also wondered if the pain could somehow be caused by my anxiety as I know I've had a lot of symptoms that have been caused by my stress levels being too high.

Any advice? Thank you.

The pain is in my right hip but my left hip is very mildly uncomfortable also.

That sounds very painful, sorry to hear that. Do you have any weakness in your leg, or is is pain alone? Do you have any pins and needles, or numbness? Does the pain change if you change your position? Sorry for lots of questions!

Bumblebee213 · 31/07/2017 19:20

I had a tiny bit of pins and needles earlier in my right leg but it's gone now. I was clearing out my daughters room earlier and crouching then standing seemed to be agrivating it.

No weakness in the leg, just the pain.

Thanks for replying lougle.

Maybe just tired muscles due to combined effect of uphill buggy pushing followed by lots of standing squats? Sounds like a total leg workout. Can you have a hot bath and see if that helps?

Bumblebee213 · 31/07/2017 19:26

I'm a single parent and totally worn out to be honest. If my 1 year olds not climbing all over me, it's my 4 year old. My youngest's just getting over an ear infection so I've been carrying her constantly. I just feel drained. Physically and emotionally. This pain is the last thing I need Sad

It sounds as though lougle may have some knowledge on this so hoping she comes back.

Thanks for your advice user, hopefully a bath may help.

Look up sciatica Bumblebee could it be that? Best to see your gp. So sorry you are feeling rotten.

Bumblebee213 · 31/07/2017 19:56

I was also bitten by a tick 6 weeks ago. I hope it's not related to lymes disease or something Shock

Bumblebee213 · 31/07/2017 19:57

I'll look into siatica, thanks waffling

Dumbledoresgirl · 31/07/2017 19:58

My first thought was sciatica too.

IrritatedUser1960 · 31/07/2017 20:03

You've pulled a muscle thats all, it isn't sciatica that goes down the back of the leg.
It hurts, it is not related to tic bites. Get a grip woman Smile

Bumblebee213 · 31/07/2017 20:06

My left hip and knee are slightly sore too. I suppose that ties in with shoving the pushchair up that hill yesterday. I'm also completely exhausted which isn't helping the anxiety either. You're right. I do need to get a grip Grin thanks for the kick up the backside.

try a warm hot water bottle

Bluerose27 · 31/07/2017 20:08

Or a hot bath with Epsom salts if you have a tub

Agoddessonamountaintop · 31/07/2017 20:15

You'll be fine, just don't get hung up on it. You've exerted tourself more than/in a different way than normal and your body is complaining about it. Show it who's boss and do some squats!

lougle · 31/07/2017 20:23

It does sound like you're sore in general, which is very reassuring!! If you had a very specific pain and it travelled in a very specific direction, etc., it might be more worrying, but a overall 'everything hurts' does sound much more like you've just reached parts of your muscles that you don't normally reach Smile

Bumblebee213 · 31/07/2017 20:26

Thanks everyone. The other thing on my mind is that my bowel movements have been yellow-ish. But this happened to me a year ago and we (my gp & i) put it down to stress. I'm hoping the two aren't related. I also have a cold. I'm literally falling apart at the seems. Haha. I'm trying to remind myself that I'll probably be feeling fine in a weeks time Smile

Take some ibuprofen (if you haven't already) - take it every six hours (make sure you've got food in your stomach). It really helps with muscle ache and any inflammation.
Sending you a Wineand Cake. You've got a lot on your plate just looking after two LOs on your own. Hope you can get an early night and get to bed with some hot milk and a good book!

Bumblebee213 · 31/07/2017 21:27

Thanks Smile I've taken some ibuprofen and it's helping. Hoping tomorrow will be less painful. Thanks for the Wine and Cake

Front of the thigh sounds like femoral nerve not sciatic nerve as that is the back of the leg not front .

Bumblebee213 · 01/08/2017 07:56

The pain is back with a vengeance this morning. It was fine when I was in bed but as soon as I've started walking round, the pain has come back. So sore. More ibuprofen taken.

I have a disc that bulges periodically (L3-L4) that's main symptom is a burning type pain in the front of my left thigh. It's caused by nerve impingement, just like sciatica (which I also get from an L4-L5 disc herniation) but in my case that pain is less severe, and definitely down the front of my leg, whereas sciatic pain goes down the back of the leg.

Bumblebee213 · 01/08/2017 08:03

I wonder if it could be that. Do you find the pain completely goes when you rest it? Literally I had zero pain when I first got up and it's gone from that to agony in about 20 minutes. This is excruciating and feels like my muscle is spasming or something. Just feels incredibly tight.
