What are these, Rash, blisters? They are spreading, help!!

Will try not to drip feed, last week came out in a load of spots similar time, they were like little blisters or burns they never itched, hurt or annoyed me, they are just there. No temperature and don't feel ill in any other way, recently had a viral mild throats but nothing else.

They started mainly on my torso and back but are now spreading down my arms and legs.

I have tried steroid cream and anti fungal cream, nothing is working and now they are spreading.

I have ceoliac and can get a skin reaction, but it's def not that. I also have Graves but have never reacted like this and I'm currently in remission and on no medication.

Have asked a couple of my nurse friends and neither have a clue. I have a Drs appointment for next week but wondered if any of you wise mumsnetters had seen anything like it before?

Shingles?

Don't shingles hurt though? My mothering law had shingles and they were agony. These are just there, they are also everywhere.

I originally thought chicken pox, but they are not as blistery as pox, and were mor burn like in appearance, it's just so weird.

Bed bug bites maybe?

Are you otherwise well? Any fever etc.? If you press on them with a glass tumbler do they disappear?

Molloscom contagiosum? You'll need to Google it. It's not common in adults though.

Guttate psoriasis?

It won't be shingles because that affects one dermatome and this is all over.

They're not molloscum.

Not bed bugs I don't think as DH is fine. They don't disappear when pressed with a tumbler, they feel quite dry in the centre.

Otherwise fine, no temp, not been glutened.

I originally thought bites but it's been a week and they have stayed the same with more appearing.

Would not surprise me if it was autoimmune as i seem to collect autoimmune issues.

But for any rash.. if you're feeling otherwise unwell, get it looked at.

I am just getting over a bad case of shingles. In my case, they really didn't hurt for the first 3 or 4 days, and then........agony.

OP - shingles tend to appear just on one side of the body. Are your spots all over?

Yup all over, no pattern although have the most on my trunk.

My first thought is guttate psoriasis but obviously you'll need it properly diagnosed.

This normally starts after a throat infection. It tends to start on the torso and back and spreads to the limbs and sometimes the face and scalp. Psoriasis is also more common in people with coeliac's. My dd has guttate and we found GP's were not knowledgeable and after misdiagnosis by them, it was finally diagnosed by a dermatologist.

There is no pattern and it's more blisters like pox pattern then rash If that makes sense, it looks like I've spent the night with a room full of mozzies but with out the itching.

May well be thatcloudhopping as I did have a mild sore throats a few weeks ago.

Will make sure I mention it the GP.

They look like guttate psoriasis lesions to me. I had this after a throat infection. At first the Dr didn't know what it was until some partially cleared after exposure to sunlight.

Obviously I'm not a Dr but it's worth a trip to your GP who could refer you to a Dermatologist if necessary.

FYI Hydrocortisone and the weaker steroids do nothing for my patches, I have to use a stronger (combination) topical steroid.

Thanks, just hoping it's not another long term autoimmune issue as my body clearly hates me.

I am due bloods ( thyroid) so may ask them to add a full blood screen to the test to see if anything else comes up.

Looks exactly like shingles. I had horrible aches and pains like flu the week before but by the time the rash appeared there was no pain.

Have you got any spots on your face? I had a couple on one side near my eye and that can be dangerous.

I have had something very similar to you in appearance some years ago. It also appeared suddenly and I had no symptoms.

It may well be pityriasis rosea; this can happen after a viral infection but the cause of PR is unknown. Creams are therefore ineffective.

If it is PR (and you may well need to see a dermatologist to confirm this) there is no treatment for it and it will clear itself in around 6 or so weeks.

In my case I saw a dermatologist who confirmed it was PR.

Luckily no spots on my face, after googling I think it is Guttate psoriasis. Which is probably why it's spreading so quickly but with no pattern.

Just hope the Gp can give me something to calm it down a bit.

I think guttate psoriasis too. Poor you. This happened to me a few months ago, after what I thought was viral sore throat but all doctors now agree was probably strep. In bad news I still have it now and it has spread to a lot more places :( but perhaps of comfort is that x 4 different GPs in my practice have all immediately recognised and been really knowledgable about it, plus 2 GPs that I've met randomly through work immediately identified it on my skin too, in a totally non-clinical
context, so perhaps posters above have been unlucky with crap GPs.
