Will try not to drip feed, last week came out in a load of spots similar time, they were like little blisters or burns they never itched, hurt or annoyed me, they are just there. No temperature and don't feel ill in any other way, recently had a viral mild throats but nothing else.

They started mainly on my torso and back but are now spreading down my arms and legs.

I have tried steroid cream and anti fungal cream, nothing is working and now they are spreading.

I have ceoliac and can get a skin reaction, but it's def not that. I also have Graves but have never reacted like this and I'm currently in remission and on no medication.

Have asked a couple of my nurse friends and neither have a clue. I have a Drs appointment for next week but wondered if any of you wise mumsnetters had seen anything like it before?

londonbum that gives me hope that I can get it sorted quickly.
So sorry it hasn't gone yet. I've had scalp psoriasis on and off for years but since I had children it went.

I'm hoping mine will calm down quickly and not stay, however it's spreading everyday.

Fingers crossed for you. I'm finding as someone said above that exposing it to light is the very best thing I can do for it. Currently awaiting a referral to hospital and going to beg them for UVB phototherapy (sunbed!)

Londonbum · 25/06/2017 22:06

Oh, and should say that all 6 of the GPs mentioned in my first post told me that with guttate, it has to just run its course and usually will clear up eventually, so just a waiting game (though creams etc good to help make it less uncomfortable). I think tbh by now mine is dragging out longer than is usual.

kyz1981 · 25/06/2017 22:13

Thanks I may see if I can get re-referred to the demotologist I saw a couple of years ago and hope that in the weeks it takes it will disappear.

I'm not great with the sun as my skin reacts but will hide in my back garden this week and see if it helps.

It seems to be at its worst after I've had a shower . Fingers crossed the spread slows down. I really hope you get your phototherapy and it goes away soon.

And you too! Def be careful I think if your skin reacts badly to the sun usually, lots of stuff online says it helps some people but can make it flare up in others, so maybe start with just short times outside? Deffo yes agree mine is worst when I get out of the shower, the water just immediately brings it up bright red!

Cloudhopping · 26/06/2017 08:36

Yes think we were probably unlucky with our GP's but my dd was only 6 when she developed it so perhaps that complicated matters.

OP I do hope it's not guttate but as you probably know, psoriasis is an auto-immune disease. I would say just moisturise all over copiously until you see the GP as if it is guttate it your skin can get very dry and itchy. Get as much fresh air as possible and try not to scratch as this causes more lesions. As others have said, it usually improves on its own after a few months but steroid creams can help speed up this process. If it continues or becomes severe, light treatment can be prescribed. There is a risk of recurrence though and unfortunately my dd falls into this category. Hope you get some answers quickly. Good luck.

Londonbum · 26/06/2017 09:28

Sorry cloud hopping I totally missed that your comment was re your DD. I really feel for you, I'm really worried since this happened to me that it could happen to my DC too. I hope your DD is doing well. I'm sure that her age did throw the GP off in your case, I understand it's much more common in older teenagers to young adults.

kyz1981 · 26/06/2017 09:35

Thanks, I've had all sorts of skin issues which mainly resolved once I was diagnosed with ceoliac.

However I had the the odd auto immune reaction that has happened once or twice and never again. So hoping this falls in to that.

cloudhopping I hope it resolves for your DD, 6 is a hard age to have something like this, my DD has ceoliac (8) and it's a battle with her feeling different to her peers.

londonbum thanks for the advice if I react or it gets worse after being in the sun I will come in and cover up. fingers crossed it's just my body going a bit haywire and will calm down soon.

Looks like psoriasis. Mine started with one little red dot and eventually spread over my whole body. Started after a month of tonsillitis on and off.
GP should give you some steroid cream.

Cloudhopping · 26/06/2017 12:35

Thanks OP and london. My dd is 11 now and it has been a bit of a battle. She has had 3 flare ups since she was 6 and has never been fully clear. She has quite a severe case. We just try to work very hard on building up her emotional resilience as we know this is long term for her. It is getting harder though as she gets older as she is more aware. I just wish I could take it away from her and have it myself. The irony is that there is no family history on either side and it came out of the blue (after a bout of tonsillitis).

Op I hope whatever it is that it resolves quickly for you. Sounds like you have enough on your plate already without this thrown in! Best of luck with it all.

Pityriasis rosea?

Mercime · 26/06/2017 12:55

Cloudhopping!!

Thank you! I think I have guttate psoriasis

I had a throat infection a couple of months ago - in fact still have it a bit

I have a weird rash on my arm that has spread to my back

doc said hmm maybe somesort of reaction to your throat, it will go at some point

just googled it and it looks identical.

BUT having seen the OPs rash it doesn't look like that - its a flat, 'splash' shaped rash not spots.

kyz1981 · 26/06/2017 14:47

merime mine are actually flat, although they look like spots more from the first picture.

GP says guttate psoriasis given a steroid cream and told to come back in three weeks and if not gone with refer to dermo.

They also said to use a soap free emollient in the shower and avoid anything with perfume in.

Mercime · 26/06/2017 18:29

My doc completely uninterested. Didn't say guttate psoriasis but said a side effect of throat infection. No creams given. He just said it would go at some point Hmm

Mercime · 26/06/2017 18:32

This is mine
