as my 2.5yrs old dd woke up this morning looking shattered and was, and still, very clingy - she is not a clingy child. I put her back in bed 2 hours later and she was flat out for an hour till she heard her cousin came in (my Niece who is 6m younger than her) so she managed to play with her.

She had nothing to eat all day and wont take her milk either so havent got a clue whats up with her..... she still looks shattered and her body is burning up (ive already given her Calpol to bring the temp down)...

We've had one lately, with feverish bits and red faces and lethargy and clinginess. Might be slapped cheek/fifth disease, not sure.

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 11/03/2007 18:58

I've got hideous tonilitus which DD had first.

Tiggerish · 11/03/2007 19:05

Monkey - I've got that too and it is truly hideous. Don't think I have ever been in so much discomfort before. Can't swallow, or talk and sleep is virtually impossible too have you got antib's?

Yes we have a sicky bug too, my dd1 had it first we've had it a few days now, not nice!

My dd's dont even mix with other children so I dont know where they got it from.

DD was grizzly but I just passed it off as her usual self until she threw up in the car

Good luck - don't forget your Milton

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 11/03/2007 19:10

Sorry to hear you are feeling so crap - but it's nice to know I'm not being a total wimp iykwim. I was saying to dh how bad I felt and that I don't remember ever having such a bad throat as this before.

monkeymonkeymoomoo · 11/03/2007 19:36

Theres a lot of Chicken Pox going araound at the moment (or Ticking Pops as DS calls it ) -that tends to start with general under the weather symptoms, sickness, being grizzly etc

youngishmum · 11/03/2007 20:44

My DD (5), has had weird hug involving severe headache, bit of sick, and sleeping for days at a time. Took ages to get over.

Biglips · 11/03/2007 20:50

twinsnikki · 12/03/2007 08:26

Is there a cough or running nose.

One of my twins was up A&E last night with CROUP.

That can cause temperature, off colour symtoms...check it out on the web...the cough really is the give away...
