I seem to be having "funny turns" - any ideas?

Had one yesterday morning - just a fleeting room spin/dizzy/light-headed moment but it made me feel quite odd.

And just now, standing in the playground - suddenly felt really panicky that I would keel over: just really dizzy and light-headed.

Any ideas? I have eaten - btw - it's not because I'm hungry.

iron
blood pressure
stress
someone spiked your milkshake?

hunkermunker · 08/03/2007 15:40

Low blood pressure?

DrMarthaMcMoo · 08/03/2007 15:43

I tend to high, rather than low, blood pressure but it was fine about a week ago when I went to get more pill.

And I take a multi-vitamin (with iron).

I am a bit stressy atm - am not sleeping well and have an infuriating twitchy eye (now you all think I am like that mad policeman in Clouseau - Clouseu's boss I mean).

Definitely not any alcohol/drugs either

Have you had a bad head cold recently?I have and it has played havoc with my ears and I have been having funny episodes of room spinning and dizziness

hunkermunker · 08/03/2007 15:47

Stress can do that to you. Did it to me the other day when we were having house moving nightmares. I felt properly peculiar.

Or you might be coming down with something. Much in the way of bugs about atm.

amynnixmum · 08/03/2007 15:47

Maybe you're coming down with something. Do you suffer with your sinuses?

SauerKraut · 08/03/2007 15:48

Anaemia?

DrMarthaMcMoo · 08/03/2007 15:50

I am starting with a cold but don't feel proper poorly (yet...) Maybe that's it.

I don't think I'm anaemic, though I have got my period.

Oh poor old me...I'm stressed out, getting a cold, on the blob and I'm having funny turns All be nice to me, quick.

Happened to DH a little while ago, and the Dr. said it was the old ear imbalance thing!

He got over it, but it was a little worrying!

ArcticRoll · 08/03/2007 21:19

Vertigo and/or viral laringhtitus(sp).
I have experienced similar symptons over past year and gp diagnosed it as this.

DrMarthaMcMoo · 09/03/2007 09:26

Thanks guys - will go to the GP if it persists after the weekend. Just googled my symptoms - I may have syphillis or possibly arsenic poisoning

DrMarthaMoo, are you me??

Your symptoms are exactly the same as mine.
I went to bed last night at 7.30 but still feel the same. On top of it all I feel queezy too.

Good luck with the arsenic poisoning...

DrMarthaMcMoo · 09/03/2007 09:35

I've felt nauseous too. It's some bug, isn't it? I went to bed after ER and still feel 'not right' this morning.

Have you given up smoking recently?

DrMarthaMcMoo · 09/03/2007 09:37

I don't know, Fio - I am, as mentioned, a bit stressed out atm - not sleeping etc. It'll pass, whatever it is.

I'm taking Kalms, actually - I wasn't sure if they helped or not.

So do you feel dizzy etc. when you're feeling anxious, Fio?

Yup, I know that feeling - it's horrible.

OK. It could be anaemia, low blood pressure, a bad head cold, labyrinthitis, vertigo, ear infection, laryngitis, ear imbalance, stress, giving up smoking, syphillis, stress or arsenic poisoning.

Hope it's not syphillis - saw that film with Johnny Depp and his nose fell off. That's not a good look for me.

Well, I am putting mine down to Arsenic poisoning....
How long do you think I have??

No, seriously, have my period, a stinking headcold with twinges of earache, and feel sick. Must be a bug. I hope...

Mind you, my period was a week early, so the nausea could be hormonal too...

Aaargh, have a busy weekend planned, can't be doing feeling like this...
