Well, I have a book right now but when JJ sends me the yoga DVD, I will have a DVD too!

I am trying yoga (not done it before) and have done 20 minutes today....

Anyone joining me and reporting in?

I'll join you Popsycal. I've just started doing a Karen Voight Abs and Back, my first ever exercise video. I'm managing 3-4 times a week so far so not the every day I was hoping for! Are you enjoying the yoga?

popsycal · 06/06/2004 15:23

I am enjoying yoga thanks - done it for 2 days now and the old leg muscles feel a bit sore.....but still going on.

Am going to hunt out a class soon aswell

Yes please me too. I was doing something called "shrink your female fat zones" a few months ago and it was good , I just got lazy. I need a bit of motivation to get back to it - I did a pilates one yesterday but need to diet a bit too. The weather here's lousy so wobbly bits all covered up - no incentive.
Are you dieting too? The yoga stretch that I love is the Warrior. Whcih dvd are you doing?

popsycal · 06/06/2004 15:33

I have a book by a lady called barbara currie and the video that another mumsnetter is sending me is by the same woman (i think)

i have never done yoga before and am not dieting. Used to be really quite fit before DS but havent done any exercise for years - just feeling 'bleurgh' so wanted to do something about it!

I haven't done anything today but will later!

I like the warrior too bettybloo - also like the dog pose into the 'child' pose...

What a good idea popsycal ! I'd like to join too - have to get back in shape now that I no longer have pg as an excuse.

I'll be doing yoga too (Barbara Currie's), and a bit of Cindy Crawford's video if I can manage it.

popsycal · 06/06/2004 18:59

Bettybloo · 06/06/2004 19:56

Good for you!
Mine will hve to be weekday workouts, as there are too many people around to laugh at me on weekends.
I will definitely be doing it first thing tomorrow though, when I also won't have to compete with Barbies and playmobil for floor space.

Chandra · 06/06/2004 20:01

I used to do 20 min of Barbara Currie's the seven secrets of Yoga and I really loved it (though is not very relaxing need to say, but that as the only yoga video which didn't send me to sleep before finishing a sequence). I had to go now but I'm very interested in joining the group, when do we start?

popsycal · 06/06/2004 20:06

start asap - I started on friday!

OP posts:
Metrobaby · 06/06/2004 20:30

popsycal · 07/06/2004 22:56

Bettybloo · 07/06/2004 23:01

Yep, did 35 mins of weights and bouncy ball exercises . Then ate a huge bag of cheesy wotsits

Lois · 08/06/2004 07:31

Well, I've already done mine. 20 minutes of New York City Ballet and very hard it was. I feel sick now!

I was eating juck after my exercise yesterday too Bettybloo. It's hard not to isn't it? I'll and try to do a bit better today.

NomDePlume · 14/06/2004 10:57

Can I join this thread ? I meant to post on this one and somehow ended up posting on another instead

I've just started doing a 30 min Rosemary Conley workout, from her Ultimate Workout DVD, daily. Am hoping it will turn me into a finely honed goddess within a month . It's great as you don't need a Masters in co-ordination to do it.

papillon · 14/06/2004 11:07

i thought of starting a thread for yoga a wee while back so this is great - thanks popsycal!

so are to report in if we have done a yoga session - or are there exercises you have in mind?

popsycal · 14/06/2004 20:14

I did 20 minutes yesterday but have been really naughty since going back to work last week....

I will do 20 minutes tonight - I am using barbara currie's book and dvd....

OP posts:
NomDePlume · 15/06/2004 13:51

Well, that's todays Rosemary C 30 min workout completed . Starting to notice a few achy feelings, so it must be working ! Hooray

Bettybloo · 15/06/2004 13:57

I haven't quite managed every day, but I've done pilates twice a week, and weights and ball once. I did pilates again yesterday but I'm not at all stiff so don't know if it's doing any good! Has anyone else done it regularly, is it worth keeping on with? Think I'll do weights again today though, that always hurts

Lois · 16/06/2004 07:22

Bettybloo, I started mid-May and am seeing really good results already. It's been along time since I did any excercise. I had a section 2 years ago and have a dreadful scar which felt tight and bled when I excercised, but I decided I had to do something before my stomach was beyond help! I am amazed how much I'm enjoying it. Plus I've already taken an inch off my waist and can pull my stomach really flat which I couldn't before, so I'm am thrilled to bits with that!

NomDePlume · 16/06/2004 13:12

Another 30 min work out for me today. I just hope I can keep it up and not lose motivation.

nutcracker · 16/06/2004 13:22

Any reccoomendations on which excersice video/dvd i can buy ??
My mate swears by her Tiabo one but just wondered what you guys though.

suzywong · 16/06/2004 13:27

What a great idea!

I've got the Cindy Crawford one two and if you igonre the manic midget 'trainer' and go in your own CV pace it is really good, plenty of stretches and strengthening exercises. Plus DS1 joins in and DS2 likes to watch Cindy, (who wouldn't)
