Hello again, and welcome to our 56th thread. Some of us have been here ages and others have just joined. I hope you've all made it safely over to the new thread.

An extra special welcome to anyone who is lurking and feeling a bit shy. We are all quite friendly and we definitely don't bite, so please do say hello if you'd like to.

All are welcome here. We started off as a breast cancer support thread many years back, but all cancer types are welcome and at any point in the "journey", even if you haven't yet been diagnosed. We have all had different experiences but there's almost certainly someone here who will understand how you are feeling.

Our previous thread is here.

I have started the new thread a little early, and I will explain why in a moment.

So sorry sleepy. I know you don't want to leave home, but as you say, it's maybe time. Is the hospice near home?

royalmama · 22/08/2016 19:01

So so sorry sleepy but good to hear the antibiotics gave you some relief. You deserve to be cared for and looked after properly. Hope your family will be close.

mintyneb · 23/08/2016 07:30

Sleepy I'm so sorry. Having rejoined the thread only relatively recently I don't think I had really grasped where you are on this journey so I was shocked and very saddened to hear your news.

I hope you are getting all the care and love that you deserve and my thoughts are with you and your family.

helly18 · 23/08/2016 11:25

sleepy sending love and gentle hugs to you and your family x

foofooyeah · 23/08/2016 13:45

sleepy just wanted to say that my Dad had a 'Hospice from Home' service and they were absolutely brilliant. I do hope yours is too. Thinking of you and your family.

weebarra I have lymphodoema (sp?) .... its really not that bad, wore a sleeve for a while but I don't really bother now. Actually its pretty good at the moment .... just means ones hand is a bit less wrinkly than he other

leslie Big old wave to you lovely x

pepperrabbit · 23/08/2016 15:52

Sleepy I'm so sorry to hear this, lots of love to you and your family, we're all thinking of you and I hope the hospice is comfortable and comforting x.

chewingawasp · 23/08/2016 18:48

I am feeling absolutely shattered and drained today and the heat probably isn't helping. Managed to get hold of a BCN for my biopsy results. There's a fair bit of calcification but that area is benign so that's a relief. Just waiting on the spinal MRI results to get the full picture. Love to all x

ExitPursuedByABear · 23/08/2016 19:15

Sleepy I am relatively new to the thread and to be honest your posts have knocked me for six and I genuinely don't know what to say.

I am one of life's annoying huggers so feel yourself thoroughly hugged.

EtTuTuttiFrutti · 23/08/2016 20:05

Sleepy we haven't chatted as I am new, but I just wanted to say I am thinking of you and your family.

Chewing, that's great news. Hope the MRI results come soon and are just as good.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 23/08/2016 20:09

Been in bed most of the day Blush but sending love to all who need it, and especially to Sleepy Flowers

1234hello · 23/08/2016 20:31

I'm just de-lurking to send kind thoughts to Sleepy, wishing you and your family peace and comfort.

I also wanted to send warm wishes to Leslie and so many others for keeping everyone going on this thread with your kind words and encouragement. I hope you gain your own support from the thread too and have good support at home. Flowers to all

mumto2andnomore · 24/08/2016 08:41

Morning everyone

Sleepy still thinking of you and sending love

Wee how did you get on with the gp ?

Chewing glad to hear it was benign and hope you get the other results soon

Leslie hope you are ok,staying in bed is a good idea if you need it

Love to everyone, welcome to those who have de lurked recently and newbies keep posting. Cancer is scary but easier if we are all in it together X

mrsrhodgilbert · 24/08/2016 10:35

Chewing, I'm pleased you managed to get some results and they were good.

Leslie, you must be feeling rough you poor thing, I hope you pick up soon. You are such a major part of this thread and so warm and encouraging.

To everyone else, hope you're doing ok, it's a worrying time for our little group.

Sleepy, we're all thinking of you and your family still

chewingawasp · 24/08/2016 10:40

Morning all.
Thinking of Sleepy and everyone else here.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 24/08/2016 11:21

Good morning all

Thinking of you Sleepy if you're reading Flowers

chewing so pleased about your biopsy results. I hope you get the MRI results soon too. Not surprised you're feeling drained with the stress of waiting for results, chemo and also the heat. I hope you're getting plenty of rest Flowers

Exit how are you?

Tutti I hope your wound is healing well now

Hello 1234hello, it's always nice to "meet" lurkers :) how are you?

mrsrhod thank you, I'm feeling quite a bit better today. I slept a lot yesterday and I'm sure that's the best way to deal with chemo side effects Smile

I agree with mum please keep posting, especially if you are worried. One of the things I've found most valuable about this thread over the years is its realism. Cancer is shit and we don't pretend otherwise, though it is tempting sometimes to just hide under the duvet and hope it all goes away! :) so if you're worried or anything, please don't feel you can't post here, or that you need to post something cheerful

Waving to everyone I've missed :)
