Consultant saw him today and feels that chemo is working well, as he isn't filling up with fluid.

Told him that av life expectancy is 3-6 months, but 25% of people on his regime reach a Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Down side, he is now diabetic....plus to this is that if they can get that sorted he will put on some weight....he has now lost 1/3rd of his body mass

So a positive day for us.

Excellent news mb - so pleased he isn't filling up with fluid, and that the chemo has proved it's worth.
And you have vibes and best wishes aplenty from me.

Blandmum · 02/01/2007 18:48

He is much more comfortable now he doesn't have 9 litres of fluid inside his peritoneum!

beckybrastraps · 02/01/2007 18:55

Sorry - I of course meant to say that I hope his regime continues to do it's thing and gives you as much time and as easy a time as possible.

JanH · 02/01/2007 18:55

9L is like 2 of those big bottles of screenwash - was it all in the front?

21L doesn't bear thinking about. What a relief it must be to have it drained.

beckybrastraps · 02/01/2007 18:56

I am imagining 10.5 large lemonade bottles...

WideWebWitch · 02/01/2007 18:57

Oh this is good to read mb.
