Needing to wee all the time!!

Has anyone had the urge to urinate all the time! It's starting to really get to me now to the point I want to scream!! I must be going 20-30 times a day! I've had two water samples done and no infection but bilirubin showed up in the first one? I've got psoriatic arthritis and take anti inflammatries and an anti TNF drug. I've been diagnosed with ibs years ago but the bloating and pains are getting worse. I feel like I'm constantly at the drs cos I'm immunosuppressed and have had a chest infection recently.
Any advice would be so appreciated! Sad

No not really. As soon as I drink I need to go and then more. I don't go through the night tho? Or at least not yet, I feel like it's getting worse.

It could be interstitial cystitis.

It's not uncommon but seems to fly under the radar for a lot of GPs. Can you ask your gp for a referral to a urologist?

I've had loads of bloods done recently because of my chest infection and also my water sample was sent off but the only thing that came up was my white blood count (neutrophils) are low so I'm currently slightly neutropenic. I just feel like banging my head against a wall when it come to my stomach pain and frequent urinating! One dr did feel my stomach and all down my left side was sore and painful but she just said ibs. Now with the constant weeing I just feel worn out.

I had this a few weeks ago. As soon as I weed, I needed to go again and I was probably going about 30 times a day. I got the nurse where I work to check my urine a few times and it was all clear. It didn't hurt me to urinate either. I never had to get up and go through the night.

This lasted about a week and then it stopped and went back to normal again.

I am like this permanently! I have been for years.

No one has ever found anything in my wee. So I have no answers but can sympathise with you massively.

Ah swazza sorry you're having the same issue! It's nearly had me in tears tonight! Can't believe all the things I've been thru and this is the thing that's really nearly breaking me! It's so uncomfortable and I feel sick with it. I'm hoping it clears up asap!

I had this for years , loads of investigations and scans showed up nothing but recently ive started drinking Andrews antacid and it's completely cleared up , I'm guessing I had an irritable bladder and the antacid neutralised my urine and stopped it irritating my bladder . Worth a try , cheap and harmless. The constant need to urinate ruined this Christmas for me , I can't believe I sorted it out so easily in the end !!

Thanks munching I'll give that a go! I'll try anything, the pain and bloating in my stomach in top of the constant need to urinate is driving me insane!

I had this and in the end has a cystoscopy which showed chronic infection in the lining of my bladder.
It was the kind of infection that would never show up on standard urine tests.
I was on antibiotics for 16 weeks and then it cleared up.

DM started having this problem last year, and after lots of negative test results the GP said it was probably irritable bladder! Essentially stress related in her case.

Although it's probably nothing to worry about you should consider seeing your GP. Are you having to go with a sense of urgency rather than just having a full bladder which needs emptying? Is the bloating persistent? You may have an ovarian cyst and possibly need to be checked out for anything more serious. As I said at the beginning it is almost certainly not anything very serious but a frequent need to wee + bloating are early warning symptoms for serious conditions. Good luck.

I feel like I constantly need to go even when there's nothing there. I don't have the feeling in going to have an accident or wet myself so it's not that desperate but it is very uncomfortable. I'm going to have to get back onto my dr aren't i. I've just finished a course of antibiotics for a chest infection but the need to go to the toilet is still there Sad

I've been like this most my life Blush with stress making it a lot worse. Push for more investigations but if it is stress related look at the issues. I must admit when my hormones are too up and down it gets worse. Only time it stopped was pregnancy for some mad reason!

Thanks scarface it could be, I've rang the drs and just waiting for a callback. I've been feeling cold and shivery then hot but not temperature hot too. I'm definitely under the weather right now so wonder if this is being aggravated a bit.

Ah ok. Cos I definitely had wee issues when I was on Naproxen and I wonder if it could be a side effect of that. I ended up in A&E because I was retaining urine and they thought I may have cauda equina (as I have a bad back)
I think mine was definitely down to the naproxen because I'm fine since I've stopped taking it.

I read somewhere it can be caused by not emptying the bladder fully when we wee.

One of the recommendations was to rock backwards and forwards on the loo to see if that helps.

Can't say it has with me. Its ridiculous. This morning I was getting ready to walk to my local shop 30 minutes round trip. I had a wee, then washed my hands, put my boots and coat on. The post arrived so I picked it up and popped it on the table to look at when I got back. Just as I was walking out the back door,I felt the urge to go again. Less than 5 minutes and I needed to pee again. And I did. By the time I had walked to the shop 15 minutes - I felt the urge again. I easily managed the walk home but was pretty damn desperate by the time I got back - so 30 minutes from the 2nd pee to being desperate! Really annoying Angry

anti inflammatories are very acidic for the bladder and it's advised they are avoided for anyone with IC and similar bladder conditions.

It does sound like IC but it's very hard to diagnose- sometimes investigations can make it worse and introduce an infection in some people.
If you don't have high blood pressure try taking 1/4 teaspoon bicarb of soda in a cup of water 3 x a day- it will help make your wee less acidic and irritating.

Also stop drinking tea, coffee, cola, fizzy drinks, fruit juice and booze. Sorry! Give our bladder a chance to calm down and drink only water- sometimes hot stays in longer than icy cold!!
