Needing to wee all the time!!

Has anyone had the urge to urinate all the time! It's starting to really get to me now to the point I want to scream!! I must be going 20-30 times a day! I've had two water samples done and no infection but bilirubin showed up in the first one? I've got psoriatic arthritis and take anti inflammatries and an anti TNF drug. I've been diagnosed with ibs years ago but the bloating and pains are getting worse. I feel like I'm constantly at the drs cos I'm immunosuppressed and have had a chest infection recently.
Any advice would be so appreciated! Sad

tickle I didn't take my etodolac yesterday cos I know they can cause issues with our stomachs. Dr has given me some more antibiotics (had a chest infection last week so this is 3rd lot of ab in 3 wks) and advised to stay off the anti inflammatries for a few days til it settles. I'm getting bad stomach and back pains too.

swazza that's exactly like me this morning! I'd been to the toilet then got ready, went to the toilet again and put coat shoes etc on ready to go out and the urge was there again!! Sooo annoying!!

pinkfrocks I did another water sample at the drs and he said there was trace of nitrate but nothing else so was going to send off and treat as uti because if symptoms. I've got a low immune system anyway due to my autoimmune condition but I'm fed up now! I feel like work think I'm taking the muck but I'm getting infection after infection. My neutrophils are low so I'm assuming my body isn't on top form for fighting off bacteria etc.
I'll try the bicarb of soda, I'll try anything to be honest! Water it is! Smile

Bit random but do you find it hard to run without nearly wetting yourself, because my sister had a prolapsed uterus and the main symptom was that and constant weeing, just a thought. Good luck

Icantstopeatinglol · 17/03/2015 07:47

No stormy I don't run but I do quite a few exercise classes when I'm well and I've never noticed that. I am concerned the longer this goes on it might damage my bladder and that could start happening though.

Ok so I've been on another lot of antibiotics since yesterday and now my stomach is absolute agony! Still needing to wee all the time but the abdominal pain is bad. Feel like you would if you had a stomach bug! Plus feel nauseous. I am so fed up now I'm in tears.
Arthritis, ibs, psoriasis, eye problems and now my bladders joined in just for the sheer hell of it. I'm usually a positive person so forgive me but I'm just letting off steam.
Wish I could just get back to how I was a month or so back Sad

If it carries on push for Urodynamics tests, I was going 30-40 times a day and was diagnosed with OAB. I take oxybutyin which helps

Icantstopeatinglol · 18/03/2015 11:51

Thanks Lauren, going to give the antibiotics a few more days. Can't begin to imagine this tummy pain getting any worse! I hope not! Feel like I've had a good kicking....only around my stomach! Sad

Hi there, not wanting to alarm you but....

I had these symptoms for the better part of a year - frequent trips to drs, urine samples which showed no infection but always with an increased high white blood cell count & antibiotics which never worked. Other than the annoyance of needing the loo all the time, getting up in the night & feeling like I had cystitis, I felt absolutely fine.

In January I was diagnosed with bladder cancer & in 3 weeks time I'm having my bladder removed & a hysterectomy.

I couldn't believe it - I'm a 48 year old, healthy & fit woman. Please go back to your GP & ask to be referred to a urologist.

Banana.

Icantstopeatinglol · 18/03/2015 16:24

Thank you for your post banana, sorry to hear yours was bad news but so glad you got the diagnosis and you're having treatment.
I do feel like a pain cos I'm backwards and forwards but honestly this is not right! I feel like my stomach and bladder have been battered, I'm sore and uncomfortable. By night time I'm in agony. I'm wondering wether mine is to do with what I'm eating. I have a number of health issues for years and I'm starting to think if my ibs is an actual intolerance like lactose or something.
Dr is calling me back in the morning as just rang and urine sample is fine again!....I've got private healthcare so I'm thinking of going down that route. I'm usually happy to wait but this is pure agony.

Sounds very much like IC to me. GP's don't generally know a lot about it, you really need to be referred to a urologist.

banana, I just wanted to wish you luck for your operation, what a shock that must have been to find that out. I am also having my bladder removed this summer, not for cancer but due to overactive bladder and countless failed treatments. People don't realise just how much bladder problems can affect your life.

Icantstopeatinglol · 19/03/2015 20:16

Hi fluffysheep, saw gp again today and he wants me to do a stool sample 'yak'! Then if that's clear he's going to refer me to a urologist. It's painful but not too bad tonight so hoping it's easing up a bit but not going to hold my breath too much! It's the stomach pain that's getting to me too but I'm sure I'll get sorted soon. Gp has been good, tho I've been about 5 times in 2wks!!

OP Have you looked at the website- www.cobfoundation.org

I'd advise you start the IC diet - which may mean cutting out lots of foods and perhaps dairy and gluten as these are often causes of all kinds of IBS and other problems.

Unfortunately it does sound like IC and it is sometimes thought to be an immune system disease.

There are treatments that can help but it can be a long journey and some people find that changing their diet can help- but you have to be very strict to begin with and maybe wait for months to see changes.

Icantstopeatinglol · 19/03/2015 20:59

Thanks pinkfrocks, I'll have a look at the website now.
Yea it has been on my mind about my diet and if I need to cut things out I will without a doubt. I just want to get back to normal and live without bloating and pain. Hopefully the urologist will be able to give me some answers Confused

I had the same need to wee all the time and bloating - turned out I had a massive fibroid. As in the size of a watermelon...

After the hysterectomy I had some loss of bladder sensation and was not emptying my bladder properly - so had to learn to be aware of that, wait a few minutes and then go again. I find changing position helps, not rocking - so I lean forward for a few seconds and then straighten up and that's usually enough. other people find it helpful to walk around.

Wierdly I find that if I lightly scratch my lower spine this helps me pee again. Don't know how that works

Icantstopeatinglol · 19/03/2015 22:17

Omg katie what a shock I bet! Glad you got sorted, I've never had bladder issues....everything else but this is new and frustrating! I feel like I can't wear certain clothes now as if they're too snug on the waistband it just caused more pressure on my already tender bladder.
Hoping to get at least some answers in the coming weeks!

There are very few uros who know much about IC- the COB Foundation will be able to help you find someone in your area.

Treatment is very hit and miss because what works for someone may not work for another person.

First, you have to try the diet- some people find diet makes no difference but others have a life-long abstention from some food and drink to control their bladders.

Your GP can prescribe some treatments that are the same as a uro could. These include amitriptyline, taken in small doses of 10-20 mgs at first, hydroxyzine ( a type of anti histamine) and various drugs that help over active bladder. You need to read the COB website and learn about all of these because most GPs know little about IC ( if that is what it is) but may be happy to let you try drugs if you ask for them.

Have you tried the bicarb in water yet to try to give your bladder something to calm it down a little? Worth a try.

Icantstopeatinglol · 20/03/2015 16:32

Hi pinkfrocks, I've just handed a sample in to drs then will wait to see what comes if that. I don't actually feel too bad today. Still feeling the need to go all the time etc but pain has died down a bit. I see my rheumy in June and I know they converse with other consultants regarding autoimmune issues so hoping he may have some knowledge. I'll also get referred to a urologist in the meantime.
I haven't tried the bicarb in water yet. I will tho. Thanks for the advice. My bladder is obviously feeling a bit left out lol! Confused
