**Tamoxigang thread 51**... no more sangria, but maybe some mulled wine!

Hello all,

The old thread has nearly run out so I hope no one minds me making a new one. And am I allowed to mention the Big C... Christmas?! Grin our last thread was started in July so I reckon this one might take us into December.

In honour of that, I will lay out some mulled wine, mince pies and I have wrapped myself in tinsel.

A warm welcome to jomidmum, but sorry you've had to join us. No one wants to be in this club, but this thread is a rather nice place to be. Wishing you a speedy recovery from your op, and hoping the pain eases soon.

Massive hugs to beccajoh Flowers

A big yippee for Marshy, what utterly fantastic news.

Sitting on the paranoia box for ConsiderablyBiggerBuns, I hope your MRI results are good - when will you hear?

Waving and sending love to everyone else.

I wonder if seeing as we are on a new thread, it might be worth just giving a bit of history for new posters? I will put mine anyway, and then others can if they want to. I am coming up to two years since my bowel cancer diagnosis (grade 2, stage 3c, T2N2M0R0). I had major bowel surgery and six months of chemo.

I'm so sorry to hear about Becca thank you for letting us know x

mrsrhodgilbert · 11/12/2014 21:47

I am so sorry to hear this news but thank you for taking the time to let us know. She has been in our thoughts a lot in the last few weeks and will continue to be. So sad. X

Marshy · 12/12/2014 09:14

Morning all,

Just wanted to say - bastard cancer.... Nothing to add to that really.

Wishing everyone good things today.

Marshy x

Speedypenguin · 12/12/2014 10:00

Totally agree Marshy.

Just nearly broken down crying in the supermarket when I realised I have had this stupid intermittent cough for a month and had this overwhelming feeling that it might have gone to my lungs. Feel so cross for all the wonderful people it affects and just thinking about Becca and her family and everyone else wants to make me smash things today.

Love to everyone

cleanasawhistle · 12/12/2014 10:01

firethorn,so sorry to hear your very sad news.

elportodelgato · 12/12/2014 10:19

Marshy, yes, I couldn't agree more.
Speedy, I have been crying today too though just in my own kitchen. It's a bit hard to get in a 'festive' mood with this fucking awful illness hanging over us, and of course my thoughts are constantly going to Becca's family and friends.

Hugs to all, and I hope everyone has good weekend plans - would anyone like to join me in resolving to seize the day and squeeze every drop of fun and joy and laughter out of the next few days?

foofooyeah · 12/12/2014 10:23

Yes ... bastard cancer.

Another lady I know died last week of ovarian cancer: also leaving three beautiful children. Its hateful and unfair.

Lilymaid · 12/12/2014 10:29

I'm very much for seizing the day and I've made sure we have made the most of life since diagnosis. There are bad days but I find that always having something to look forward to helps. It must be awful for people on their own without loving friends and family.
Good news - article in today's Guardian about the long term for those on Tamoxifen. (I must learn how to do links when using the iPad).

foofooyeah · 12/12/2014 10:36

taa dah! that will be my best achievement today

amberlight · 12/12/2014 12:06

Firethorn, no words are every going to be enough. Sending huge hug to all of you, for what little consolation that is.

I'm glad you decided to post here James.

I hope it is a tiny comfort that so many people thought so much of Becca, will miss her and are thinking of you and all your family.

Hugs to all xx

Sitoff · 13/12/2014 17:16

James I would like to echo the warmth above about Becca and send you and your family virtual love and strength. She was so terribly unlucky. It is a cruel thing that she has been taken away from you all. xxx

Mummywheel · 13/12/2014 23:24

So very sorry to hear the sad news x

gillybean2 · 14/12/2014 09:36

firethornuk I am sorry to hear of your loss. I am new to this forum and didn't know Becca but your sad news has helped me get some perspective in all this in terms of my own situation and what others are going through too.

I hope you and your family can take some small comfort from the support and obvious sadness shown here by those that did know Becca. She clearly touched many people. I'm sure you too will get support here if and when you need it. You and your family are in my thoughts.

IamtheZombie · 14/12/2014 16:33

My thoughts and prayers are with you, James.

firethornuk · 14/12/2014 22:45

Thank you all for your kind messages and positive vibes.

It is all really difficult and incredibly sad.

But knowing Becca personally, and now seeing Becca through her online prescence here and on other message boards. It re-enforces what an amazing person Becca was, and reminds me what an amazing woman she was, especially as a wife and mother to our two beautiful children.

I would like to extend an invite to any of her online friends to attend her funeral, which I hope will be a celebration of her life.

Details are here: www.beccajohnson.co.uk

Please, just let me know if you are planning ion attending

Many thanks, James x

Please feel free to share.

firethornuk · 14/12/2014 23:05

Please, can someone share on Damsels (I cant seem to register nd or post). I can see that Becca was a prolific contributor. I've had a good look through over the past few days.
