Have changed the title as hoping to get a reply! Thanks!

Hi, I had my gallbladder removed following an infection 2 months ago. It was all fine, apart from a few twinges until last week. I have had major pain in the gall bladder area and terrible diarrhoea and a few near misses at work, and ended up back in a and e, due to the pain. Had a scan for fluid around the area which was clear, and been back to doctors who is referring me for another scan on my common bile duct. Only had 2 tiny stones and sludge to start with. I am so fed up, has anyone else had this and did it every clear up? The pain is slightly less but still bad, and i feel that i am never going to be back to normal.
Thanks!

I also had my gallbladder removed 2 months ago. Apart from a very slow recovery I haven't had any problems since, but did extensive research before and after the operation. From what I read, some people are left with a stone(s) in the bile duct that is missed during the operation. This can be removed (by ERCP I think).

You might already have seen this thread - could be someone here with similar symptoms?

I hope they get to the bottom of your pain and that you're back to normal soon!

I had my gallbladder out in march and I am worse off for having it outHmm I have ben to the hospital three times with two of those in an ambulance because the pain was so bad. I have just came out of hospital on thur with a six day stay with pancreatitis which they think is caused by a stone passing there. I am absolutely fed up off this pain and with four children this is so hard when I end up in hospital. I'm sorry that I have gone on. I hope you get the answers you need.

syork , I had similar experiences to you. I had the op and the pain was on and off for a year. I was told it was the bile duct clearing. it's all ok now unless I eat something really fatty.
