Can't stand those ones with WINGS. What are they all about? Who are they? Where did they come from? >

CarolinaMao · 16/08/2006 22:40

noooooooooo!!

they smell

Tatties · 16/08/2006 22:40

I wouldn't either Took me a while to muster up the courage...

orangegiraffe · 16/08/2006 22:42

I always appreciate sanitary towels, well the comfy ones
not the awful things they give you in the hospital, which leaves you walking like John Wayne for a week

Quootiepie · 16/08/2006 22:42

well, im not shoving an egg cup inside me Sparkler... the wings are for the dribbles that get away!

I always remember when I very first got my period mum bought me san t's. When she found out I was sexually active, we went shopping and she picked up a box of tampons and said very reluctantly "well you can have these now". PMSL. I still giggle about it to this day.

Sparkler1 · 16/08/2006 22:47

dribbles -eeeeeeeuuuuugh!

MoreTeaAnyone · 16/08/2006 22:48

Santiary towels let you know exactly whats going on.

CurrantBun · 17/08/2006 12:46

Sanitary towels are GROSS. I hate that you can feel the blood exiting your body as you move, I hate that it stick to your pubes, and I hate the smell. Tampons are so much more hygienic.

I may be eating my words in 6 months time when I have a post-birth vagina though!!

mumfor1standfinaltime · 17/08/2006 12:49

Much prefer them to tampons (why would you use a tampon?!)
Must be soft ones though as they get irritating by the end of the week!
Remember my mum buying me my first pack, huge thick super ones with hardly sticky on the back!

CurrantBun · 17/08/2006 12:54

'Why would you use tampons'??

Why WOULDN'T you? They don't leak around the edges and ruin your underwear, they're small er and easier to carry around than towels, and they're so comfortable you can forget you're having a period - which is surely the point.

BlueBeetle · 17/08/2006 12:54

No they're not great - not for the landfill and the environment anyway !!

Mooncups are the way to go !

expatinscotland · 17/08/2006 12:55

No, they're not.

They feel like you're wearing a nappy. They smell. And they're horrible for the environment.

Gross.

You'll shove a man's cock up you, but not a tampon?

FrannyandZooey · 17/08/2006 12:56

Sanitary towels rustle. Well they did when I was a girl, anyway, and the memory has meant I have never been able to face using them except post partum. They are all ruddy thin and discreet though now, aren't they?

MrsBadger · 17/08/2006 12:57

what was that memorable phrase?

'like getting a drive-by waxing'

Just Say Ow!.. I mean Just Say No.

Towels are horrid, tampons rule

did anyone see that The Saturday Times had a big article on Mooncups last weekend? I have been trying to do a link but it keeps booting me out and not letting me.

Quite persuasive actually.

Jsut can't bring myself to agree Quootie, can't stand ST's. I wore them for the first day of my first period & that was it, apart from after I gave birth. Even then I kept asking if tampons would be ok, as I felt so disgusting in towels. I had an episiotomied, torn fanjo too, but was still repelled by STs.
