Have you ever broken a bone? If so, how did it happen?!

Me & DH were chatting and realised that neither of us had ever suffered a broken bone, and it got me wondering if that was unusual...
Are all your bones intact, and if not, why not?! Shock

Not me but DS when he was 8 he broke his 5th metatarsal in his left foot playing scooby doo. I was in the room and heard the crack.

I broke my leg in two places while rollerblading aged about 14. Worst pain ever. Childbirth was a breeze in comparison.

Smashed elbow to pieces, was like a bag of marbles apparently. Still can't straighten it 8 years later. Worst experience of my life, that.

I thought I'd done good not breaking any bones in 37 years of my life, and could never envisage it ever happening...until this year I slipped down the stairs and spectacularly broke my tib and fib in three places.

I ended up with two metal plates either side of my right leg with the total of 19 screws inside. It took me well over 6 months to be anywhere near normal again. I still limp.

I broke my back in a climbing accident.
Broke my pelvis in a climbing accident
Broke my leg skiing
Broke my neck in a freak accident while skiing but it wasn't actually a ski accident. A huge pile of snow fell off a hotel roof from four floors up and landed on me.
Broke my toe kick boxing.
Broke all the toes on my other foot when a horse trod on it.
Fractured my skull falling off a horse
Broke a rib coughing when I had pleurisy.

I've had loads more accidents which haven't involved fractures.

I jumped off the roof of the student union building many years ago and impaled my leg on a tree.

I've been rescued unconscious and close to death by a mountain rescue team after been lost in a snow storm for hours and nearly drowned in a river.

I broke my wrist when I was 7 racing a boy down my road. I was on a bike and he was running. I crashed into a huge, knocked two teeth out, and broke my wrist.
I also broke a finger playing basketball.
I've been horse riding since I was 6 and am amazed I've never broken anything doing that ;)

I broke my nose running head first into a table when I was about four. I was drunk on sugar or something and I remember wanting to hug the table Hmm

My brother accidentally broke my collar bone by pushing me down some stairs.

He broke my leg and both my arms by the above (^)
(I was five, he was five and eleven months and we were playing a stupid game together).

I once broke three bones in my ear by falling on my side when playing goalkeeper with the DC!

Broken my toe twice in different places. I think I chipped a bone in my finger about five weeks ago when I shut it in the car door.

Ex-bf broke 3 of my ribs by accident, he sat on me and held me down when I had a seizure. Same ex broke my nose by accident during sex!

I broke my wrist falling on the ice a few winters ago. I've also chipped a bone in my elbow. I fell over whilst drunk Blush

Bloody hell Vica how are you still alive? You must haves bloody good guardian angel!

I fractured my wrist rollerblading down a subway ramp. Couldn't stop and got faster and faster and sort of turned and crashed into the wall. Not sure if it was the wall or the floor tht fractured my wrist though!

DH broke his ankle skateboarding. His parents didn't believe him and made him walk round Scarborough for a day before finally taking him to hospital!

Broke my scaphoid age 14, 15 and 33- playing basketball for the first two and trapping my wrist in a fire door for the last one

Broke my nose age 14 when my 10 year old brother punched me. (many years later he is still apologetic!)
Broke my little toe on Chhristmas eve 3 years ago, stubbed it on wooden foot on setee.
Broke one of the small bones in my foot at a christmas party when a drunkfriend stood on it in heels.
