I'm sure I never used to get this pre-pregnancy. But since dd was born 4 years ago it seems to have got worse. I feel like an old lady. My left foot looks very swollen but mostly they just ache ...

Anybody else get this or have a 'cure'?

Same as you - no problem pre-pregnancy but now they swell up - it makes me feel old too!

jollymum · 03/07/2006 19:10

I've got swollen feet, heel spur and need insoles. I also twisted my ankle last week and had to walk for 45 mins today back from dropping my car at the garage. My feet are poorly! Much sympathy to you![GRIN]

juuule · 03/07/2006 19:10

You are not alone. Happens to me too, now and it's 3 years since I had my last baby. Didn't happen before that either. However, I am overweight (same weight that I was full term with dd ) now so maybe for me it's weight related.

mousiemousie · 03/07/2006 19:35

i could do with losing a stone or two so maybe that's my problem too!

LadyTophamHatt · 03/07/2006 19:40

Yes, I'm 13weeks Pg and have slighty pudgy feet atm but have never had swollen feet before with all previous pg's.

My feet feel like I've walked 1000 miles today.

imaginaryfriend · 03/07/2006 21:31

Oh, phew ... I'm not overweight at the moment. But when I was pregnant it was a very hot summer and my feet swelled to a ridiculous degree. Ever since, on hot days, they swell up and feel really achy and tired. Nothing seems to help. Anyone found any reasons or remedies?

Mine are like pillows, am swollen right up to knee level and feel like they're going to burst! There's nothing I can do--hopefully when baby arrives they'll shrink back to normal.

kid · 03/07/2006 22:46

imaginaryfriend - It was the flip flops that caused the blisters!

luckylady · 04/07/2006 10:00

15degrees sounds bless, we are at 37-39 degrees at the mo, to hot to do anything other than sit under the aircon,. My feet are up at the blowers trying to get the swelling down. They really fdo feel like the did at the end of both my pgs, so if anyone knows a cure let me know....pleeeaaase.

imaginaryfriend · 04/07/2006 13:27

ll, mine feel like they did at the end of pregnancy too. But I'm definitely not pregnant again! Do you think, anyone, it links to when you're having a period? I am at the moment, I wonder if it'll improve when the period stops ...

My ankles swell, it has become worse since I had ds 2.5 years ago. I never had symptoms after I had dd 8 years ago, but then I didn't have baby belly then either

imaginaryfriend · 04/07/2006 21:31

Does it happen to you all on just the very hot days? Or on days when you've been on your feet a lot? Mine has been a bit better today. Although I can't tell you why!

Ironically, the best thing I have found to help with badly swollen feet and legs is sto put on a supportive pair of trainers and go for a walk. I think that the action of the muscles helps to move the fluid up and away from the legs.

Sitting with feet up doesnt' help at all, probably I think because of being folded at the hips.

imaginaryfriend · 07/07/2006 15:21

PC do you know what causes it?

Loobie · 07/07/2006 15:32

I had this when pg with dd,baby number 3 and have been left with it,yes it gets much worse in the heat, and yes i find it gets way bad when im due on AF.
What works?? for me not having my feet up but have found water tablets helps disperse it
