It's beginning to sound strangely attractive
Probably going to need it after the beef stew an dumplings I made for dinner (god bless the slowcooker)

Janstar · 11/02/2004 18:18

If it is caused by meat that might be why I didn't feel a whole lot different for it. I had been a vegetarian for years and years when I had it.

Coddy · 11/02/2004 18:51

ok suzy If i went would you go too?

Yes I would actually
I was veggie for 17 years til I found out
a) Morrisey was a big liar as he eats Tuna (he put me on to the idea)
b) I was aneamic and needed a big steak when ds1 was tiny - never looked back

But hate to think what is now lurking in my previously uncluttered colon

Janstar · 11/02/2004 19:14

Just saw this! I had a high colonic as they are called here, when I was 19 (46 now), it was just a few years ago.... Yes, they gently shove this hose in your bum with two things (prongs?) on it, one to put water in, one to take the water out. The liquid was all enclosed in the tubes--there was no sewer smell at all for me, very discreet, but if you look at the tubes, you can see stuff coming out of you for sure! They massaged my lower stomach and colon each step of the way as they can get the water to go further and further into your large colon as they clean you out. I did not find it extremely comfortable, but at that time I had not yet given birth which does change your perspective a bit on painful procedures! I did feel better, but can't actually remember how much better I felt as that was a lifetime ago. My massage therapist has recommended that I go for one and she has someone that she really likes, so I might just have one myself sometime in the future. I hate having anything pushed up my a** , so I have avoided this procedure for the past 30 years or so Coddy! I know.....anything to lose a pound, right? And it is so romantic! His and Hers Colonics!! Maybe you could be laying next to each other when they do it!

Coddy · 12/02/2004 13:39

It's not natural tho' is it? Having water squirted up your *rse?

I mean it's going against your own systolic waves (have I got the right word).

I thought the whole point of eating fibre was to keep the colon clear.

and if you lose a couple of pounds, surely you put them on again in the next few days?

CountessDracula · 12/02/2004 14:13

Some people put hamsters up theirs so I don't think a bit of water will hurt

Coddy where do you live? Near PPH?

sunchowder · 12/02/2004 14:36

Brill Comments! Love the arse Hoover--Easythe Yogis (sp?), can manage to get their large intestine out (don't ask me, I EVEN so photos) so that they can clean the Outside of them, apparently it depends on what you "think" is natural culturally I guess! I don';t believe that anything should go "up" there myself (including small animals )--but it was highly recommended to me at the time. It is also used in the cases where people pick up parasites, etc. Even with fiber, I guess it never all really comes out...

Contact the British Colonic Hydrotherapy Association for a list. I couldn't find their address but I expect you can google for it.
