He said woke up on train to hideous pain in right side.

Says sort of cramping. Doesn't think it wind, maybe constipation although he went this morning. Has used a glycerin suppository and drunk extra large dose of lactulose and nothing.......

He feels slightly nauseous but not been sick at all and is at present prowling round the house pulling sore faces.

I am 17 weeks pregnant and have had shit time so sympathy is not my forte at present so have sent him up upstairs to use bathroom up there away from me and roll about in the spare room.

Any ideas?????

Where is the pain located?

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:20

Level with tummy button on right hand side.

OP posts:
mymatemax · 14/06/2013 21:22

gall stones?

BigBoobiedBertha · 14/06/2013 21:22

Does he have his appendix? The pain is normally lower as I understand it but it starts higher up and moves down.

bananananacoconuts · 14/06/2013 21:22

If he presses left side does the right hurt more when he releases his hand?

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:23

It's his left side!

Sorry pregnancy brain.

Yes he has appendix.

OP posts:
bananananacoconuts · 14/06/2013 21:25

Could be appendicitis as the pain does move lower eventually! Or a hernia, kidney stone or urinary infection

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:27

Oh god!

When should I worry. He not normally a moaner so think should at least take seriously although the thought that it may be bowel related is really testing my metal, poo just Bleugh!!!

InsanelyBrainDeprived · 14/06/2013 21:29

I thought appendix was right side?

bananananacoconuts · 14/06/2013 21:30

To be fair (now i've scared you!) there are tummy bugs going round our area at the min! Could he just have a dodgy tum?

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:31

Is left side in a moon shape.

He gone to ring nhs 111.

Hurts a little more if he presses left side and hurts a but round the back too.

Have awful feeling will end up in bloody walk in centre tonight!

OP posts:
bananananacoconuts · 14/06/2013 21:31

Had mine out last year and it definitely started on the left and went diagonally through belly button to right hip

BigBoobiedBertha · 14/06/2013 21:32

Yes appendix is right side. OP said right originally but changed sides further up the thread which is good. You can forget the appendix!

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:32

Might be i suppose, a tummy big that is.

He doesn't normally whine about things though so must really hurt. No temp if that makes any difference.

Kidney colic??
Urine infection?

Does the pain come and go?
Does it hurt to pee?
Does he feel feverish, hot/cold, shivery/sweaty??

Has he taken any painrelief? Paracetamol/Brufen?
Try a warm water bottle on where it hurts?

If in doubt, phone NHS24.

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:33

Goodo not appendix.

OP posts:
BigBoobiedBertha · 14/06/2013 21:34

If it is round the back too is there any chance of urinary tract infection? They hurt back and front.

PacificDogwood · 14/06/2013 21:34

Rereading your posts, my money is on kidneystones - can be very painful, so A+E if it gets too much.

bananananacoconuts · 14/06/2013 21:34

Round the back could be trapped wind!

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:34

Yes pain intermittent like cramping.

No weeing pain, no fever or shivers.

OP posts:
InsanelyBrainDeprived · 14/06/2013 21:35

When my dh had appendicitis he was shivery, hot and didn't make much sense as the pain was that bad.

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:35

Has has diclofenic as only thing we have here.

Will nip next door for paracetamol and go and steal DS's hot water bottle.

PacificDogwood · 14/06/2013 21:35

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2013 21:36
