I use Bergaderm (used to be called Proderm). The kids one is SPF30 and it has at least 3 stars. It's great because you only need apply it once as it is water and towel resistant and lasts up to 6 hours. It comes in a mousse so is easy to apply. I can trust my 3 to apply it themselves.

Furball · 23/05/2006 13:38

We always use \link{http://www.ultrasun.co.uk\Ultrasun factor 28} - it's a once a day application and protects from both UVA and UVB - quite pricy but as used only once a day lasts a while. I think Waitrose sell it as well. Just be aware not all once aday ones protect UVA only UVB.

Mummycan · 23/05/2006 13:39

This one is brilliant - about £17 but once a day application - used it in August in Dubai - no burnt bits! \link{http://www.ultrasun.co.uk/\ultrasun}

CountessDracula · 23/05/2006 13:39

I like bergaderm too

Mummycan · 23/05/2006 13:40

Great minds Furball

MeAndMyBoy · 23/05/2006 13:50

One that friends use for their kids and we'll use for DS this year in Portugal is P20 - I've seen it in Asda recently otherwise it's ordered online.

One application lasts all day and is waterproof, I would add a higher protection over the top of it for the hottest bit of the days if you're out in it though.

Freckle · 23/05/2006 13:53

Bergaderm does both UVA and UVB and costs about £11.99 or Sainsburys sometimes do a BOGOF on it which makes it really cheap.

hulababy · 23/05/2006 13:55

I have bought Ultrasun factor 28. Trouble is DD has come out in a rash each time she has used it. Need to find an alternative for her.

LIZS · 23/05/2006 14:00

We use Ambre Solaire Kids factor 30 . Superdrug have 2 for price of 1 atm on sunscreens.

onlyjoking9329 · 23/05/2006 14:05

piz buin once a day for us, its fab and unlike the p20 it protects against uva and uvb, have used it lots for me and kids without burning, savers had it in at 4.99 it's usually 11.99.

JackieNo · 23/05/2006 14:07

Another vote for the Piz Buin one. We've found it very good.

hermykne · 23/05/2006 14:17

hulababy - if you contact them, they will send you samples of other ones to try and also give you a refund! I've found their customer service excellent as similar happened with my ds.

Furball · 23/05/2006 14:31

P20 only protects against UVB and offers no protection at all against UVA which is the one thought to cause skin cancer :(

cod · 23/05/2006 14:33

you want one wiht antioxidants in apprantly

boots numebr 7 comae out well in that case

MeAndMyBoy · 23/05/2006 14:34

Yikes didn't realise that Furball - thanks for telling me - we won't be using that one then.

cod · 23/05/2006 14:34

\link{http://www.boots.com/brandtreatment/product_details_brand_treatment.jsp?productid=1057960&classificationid=1031599\here allt he right stars etc etc otherwise lcinique and nieva got voted best}

GDG · 23/05/2006 14:37

Freckle · 23/05/2006 14:42

They did a feature on This Morning yesterday. See \link{http://www.itv-thismorning.co.uk/NewsAndFeaturesArticle.aspx?fid=1057&tid=2\here}.

hulababy · 23/05/2006 18:09

Thanks for that Furball - I will try and see what they suggest.

hermykne · 23/05/2006 18:53

Only use Ultrasun here as well.

claireh11 · 24/05/2006 14:56

We bought an Australian one called Hamilton and its great. Factor 30 for the kids and its waterproof for 12 hours so no need to keep re-applying when they are in and out of the water.

Katymac · 24/05/2006 15:13

Johnson & Johnson suncare for kids
SPF 40 8 hrs uva/uvb filtes and water resistant for 6 hrs

We will see how it goes

jellyjelly · 24/05/2006 17:33

I heard a shocking thing from a skin care suntan person saying that the reason why they dont stick p20 is because an ingriednt in it can cause cancer. Not sure how true it is but i dont use it anyway as it isnt high enough fctor for me.
