Catj's dd4

On Tuesday afternoon catj's dd4 was rushed to hospital after the hv (yes one did something useful!) wasn't happy about her colour and breathing. When they got to the local hospital they started tests and managed get hold of a cardiologist from Southampton General (luckily he was doing a clinic and hadn't quite left the car park!) He then confirmed that there was a heart condition and requested that they were transfered to Southampton (It has one of the best cardiac units in the country) they were finally transfered at about 2am!
On wednesday Seren was diagnosed with complex pulmonary Atresia. One of her valves has not opened and she has a hole in her heart. She may have to have a shunt put in but at the moment the doctors aren't rushing to do it. She is stable and has been taken off a ventilater but is on cpap. She even had a little protest tonight when she was given an oral drug and it doesn't taste very nice!
Catj is fine - she is a laid back person and doesn't see the point in getting stressed out as she know it doesn't do anyone any good!

Hi All, Just got back from the hsopital - Seren is stable and doing well. They are hoping to take her tube out in the morning.
She does look a lot better than she did a week ago.
Catj is fine and seems to be coping with it well!

I've come home again for the night. Seren is looking so much better. Very awake and voicing her opinions! She is not happy when she's nil by mouth :)
Piffle-amazingly enough Dr Salmon was in Poole doing a clinic the day we went to A&E there. He was about to leave the car park when he got the call to see her so she was diagnosed before we got to Southampton.

Good news. We have graduated onto the cardiac ward. I'm not getting too excited though as we've had a few "wobbles" on the way but its progress. Grin
