Don't view my photo if you're squeamish, but seriously, agony.

It's been 5 days and I can just about walk now with padding under my foot

Pan! You want to talk to Vicar!

VivaLeBeaver · 04/11/2012 08:46

Blimey, did the dr just dig it out or freeze it off?

Oblomov · 04/11/2012 08:47

Oh God, QOD. That is truely awful. Made my stomach churn., I think its the depth of the hole, that got me. Oh yuk. hope it gets easier. very soon.

atacareercrossroads · 04/11/2012 08:48

Holy shit!!

I had 3 freezing sessions and nothing changed, I thought it'd be a little slice and snip ... Nope.
He,used a mini ice cream scoop type thing then a pair of surgical scissors, he was shaking with the effort. I'd had a LA so felt nothing. Then he used silver nitrate on a stick to stop the bleeding and swanned off leaving the nurse who had to use 3 more sticks to stop the bleeding.

Perhaps I'm naive but I really didn't expect this! I've been wearing a bit of a sanitary towel to absorb the blood, a corn pad, a wedge of sponge held on with surgical tape and a padded bandage with ugg boots just to be able to hobble round. Truly truly painful

The Sam foot also has ringworm on the top so I'm now considering amputation

Oh my giddy aunt!

What did they use, a chisel?

crashdoll · 04/11/2012 09:56

Flaming Nora, that does not look right at all!! Your poor, poor thing! See your doctor asap please. If not for you, for me, I'm wincing on your behalf. I suffer with very painful veruccas that refuse to leave because I'm on immunosuppressants, so I feel a tiny bit of your pain. Are you nice and drugged up on painkillers?

moleskin · 05/11/2012 12:06

Omg!!!! I used to suffer terribly with the buggers! I don't bother with any treatments now they don't work.instead get apple cider vinegar on cotton ball tape to ur foot and it be gone in ten days! Sorry to late for you now but will save you pain for next time. Hope gets better soon

MaryAnnSingleton · 05/11/2012 13:23

(faints)

typicalvirgo · 05/11/2012 13:28

moleskin whats this apple cider treatment ??

DD (15) has suffered terribly with these things that refuse to go away despite all sorts of different treatments and I can imagine posting pictures like QODs in the future.

Hope this works for you QOD - you have certainly been through the mill with this.

TigerFeet · 05/11/2012 13:29

Eeek OP that's gruesome, poor you.
KEEP OFF THAT FOOT, it will not heal while you're walking on it. Any chance you can get hold of some crutches so you can keep off it? Get yerself to the GP to make sure it isn't getting infected.

My sympathies to you.

TwelveLeggedWalk · 05/11/2012 13:31

Tell us more about hte cider apple thing!

Will it also wash away the image of QOD's poor foot that is now emblazoned on the inside of my eyelids?

ScarahScreams · 05/11/2012 13:38

Oh no!

moleskin · 05/11/2012 14:44

Dip cotton ball in apple cider vinegar so its saturated tape it onto verucca at night and cover with sock to save soaking the bed. Take off in morning. Repeat every night . Verruca and surrounding skin will turn white and after about ten days you can peel the whole thing straight off!! Works for warts as well. I do it on my dd as she's only 8 and the freezing really hurts her and doesn't work. Vinegar works every single time!!! A dear friend told me it also works for genital warts but I wouldn't know AMD I don't think i want vinegar anywhere near my fanjo!!! So there you go get down to Tesco and get the cider vinegar in!!

shrimponastick · 05/11/2012 15:32

Ouch!!!

Let's hope it is a gonner.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 05/11/2012 17:24

Ah, this is why you should see a specialist instead of a generalist! Your wound doesn't look that bad, it's neat and tidy with no infection. That's probably not a bruise but the silver nitrate stain. Looking closely I'm afraid it's possible there is still verruca tissue around the edges, hard to be sure though.
FWIW if you get to the stage where no chemical or Freezing treatments work, go to someone who can do needling for verrucas. Works a treat, still leaves a wound but less scar tissue.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 05/11/2012 17:26

Moleskin, interesting about apple cider vinegar. I'll do some research on that. I've not heard of any verruca treatment that works every time.

moleskin · 05/11/2012 17:50

When I got told about it I found out quote a bit on google on it and spoke to a lady in a local herby shop about it and she said she uses the same as well.

Hassled · 05/11/2012 17:52

Oh my fucking god. Jaysus. I haven't seen one as bad since VicarInATutu posted a picture of hers - made me feel all peculiar.

Oblomov · 05/11/2012 19:10

VicarInaTutu had one WORSE? How could it be any worse. And more importantly , why do I keep coming back to look at it...

saintlyjimjams · 05/11/2012 19:13

:buys cider vinegar: Actually think I have some downstairs, will try it tonight.

Having seen that photo I am not getting my 20 year old verruca sliced. Your poor thing OP!

maudpringle · 05/11/2012 19:19

Good gracious- hope it heals soon.

GlaikitFizzog · 05/11/2012 20:32

There is a poster who is a podiatrist. I can't remember her name. She is good for all foot related worries!

QOD · 05/11/2012 20:43

It's much better today!! I've removed the home made dressings and can actually walk!! I was super close to crutches, bloody ridiculous pain. If I ever get another I shall cider vinegar all the way!
The ringworm looks like its coming back .... Sigh. I've been putting cream n it twice a day for a MONTH!!
