Don't view my photo if you're squeamish, but seriously, agony.

It's been 5 days and I can just about walk now with padding under my foot

I too think it still looks really sore.
I think I may be a bit sick in the head, Grin because I keep looking at verruca threads. YUK.

VivaLeBeaver · 07/11/2012 21:20

I wonder if YouTube have verrucas removal videos to add to my cyst sporn viewing habit.

Oblomov · 07/11/2012 22:17

Well, I've looked. Shock
And quite frankly the offering is quitre poor.
Thus, I think Vicar and QOD can count theirs as 2 of the best !!

QOD · 08/11/2012 18:20

I've had verrucas since 1998 -probably earlier. The acid treatment, the freezing treatment bought from the chemist and gaffa/duck tape had no affect. My GP said NHS won't treat them, won't offer liquid nitrogen or surgical removal as only 50% success (50% sounds brilliant to me though!). These are not normal verrucas -they grow very fast and come back with a vengeance and I think this must be an evolved much more virulent virus. The medical profession don't seem to care. I'm having physiotherapy from a podiatrist-through the NHS-as my verrucas have affected my walk- I walk now on the outside of my foot and get foot pain and fall. The podiatrist mentioned the needling treatment and said it's 75% successful (sounds fantastic!) but the NHS won't pay. But they pay more for podiatry and shoe inserts instead- which just make it more painful. My GP offered to dig them out himself with a scalpel but said it would leave scarring. I didn't know the implications of having scarring on the ball of my foot and was worried about a GP doing surgery at this scale- as they are big- so didn't take up the offer. The biggest is the size of the one in the don't look warning photo but less angry/not scabbed. The most effective treatment I've found is a summer holiday at the seaside. Swimming in the sea and walking on sand seems to almost get rid of them...But they grow back. I'm thinking of paying for the needling treatment myself as the NHS doesn't seem to care. I would have thought though that if they don't treat these very virulent strains of the virus, they could spread and cause far more problems and be more expensive for the Health Service in the long run.
