I am getting fatter...I need motivation to spur me into eating differently.
So tell me...can you eat awfully and stay thinish? I know the answer...but tell me anyway!!!!!!!!!

chunk of choccy for breakfast, banana for lunch..followed by 5 biscuits...bag of crisps follwed by stodgy dinner then more crisps later...plus beer and choccy..Blush

I would say, not usually. However, you can be thin and have an appalling diet, by which I mean that you can deprive yourself of nutrition.

cut out the stodgy dinner and you might be ok!

there is a thing called the peanut butter diet... that's it. it's all yuo eat.

and basically you get malnourished and lose weight

I did for years and years, was lovely and thin and ate crap. All changed when I had kids though. Still eat pretty badly and I've just had a fag as well.

Have never dieted. Have tryed to cut down on crap unsuccessfully. Didnt used to eat crap before I stopped smoking:(

OMG that is a lot of junk food. What you should do is limit yourself to one treat a day - like a cadburys cream egg (low in calories/fat and satisfy a sweet tooth). The rest of the time make sure you are eating meals that are low in fat but don't leave you feeling hungry and eat breakfast (cereal) - if you don't you will eat biscuits at 11am.

you need to have your food earlier. a goodb reakfast will kickstart metabolism
avoid eating in the evening when your metabolism is slower and you're not doing anything

Have no time for breakfast...no appetite for it either...can make a slimfast first thing and drink it at 10ish...just NEED to really put my mind to it.

Socci, well you see when I first stopped smoking I thought to myself...you can have those crisps..better for you than a fag...a year and a bit later ...hmm, that lines wearing thin.

I think (IME) you can get into the habbit of eating chocolate and then your body craves it more. But if you stop eating so much rubbish, you stop wanting it. You may just find the first few days hard.

Yes you can eat badly and stay thin, but I would worry about all the nutrients my body was missing and the higher risk of blood pressure problems, high cholesterol and the impending heart attack.

Sorry to sound like an idiot but I'm severly overweight and having just had my first child have realised that looking fat isn't the only problem I have, dying young is a distinct possibility.

Have you thought about going to Slimming World or something like that? You may find having support and motivation there helpful...

probably going to hate me for this im one of these people who can eat whatever they want and stay a size 10, only eat one proper meal a day rst of day just crisps chocolate biscuits zillion cups of coffee do eat loads of fruit though beer wine takeaway once a week. but dd eats really healthy stuff breakfast lunch dinner healthy snacks no junk etc

Try a banana for breakfast. I hate breakfast, always feel sick, but can just about force down a banana. It will kick start your metabolism.

Swap beer for wine or g&t, much fewer calories.

Keep WW biscuits in the house if you must & WW or skinny cow ice cream.

Jacket potato and salad for dinner is very filling. You can use low fat cheese too (doesn't have to be cottage cheese, bleagh)

Wean yourself off too much chocolate by buying mini ones - like celebrations and have one of those instead of a having chunks off a big bar.
