Anyone ?

I had a cyst which was sore. My gp referred me to hospital. It went away and came back again, I then opted to get it cut out. There is only a faint scar now. Always best to go to the doctor as soon as possible with breast lumps. It will put your mind at rest. Good luck x

Thanks do much for replying.
Did it come on suddenly ?

This is really weird I am teh same am terrified also blamed a new bra but have left off it for 2 days and no better. Even t shirt brushing against it is painful

VerityBrulee · 17/06/2012 12:43

Being painful is a good sign Smile

I have had 3 biopsies, mammagrams, etc for breast lumps, in each case it was nothing at all. I have one lump which is glandular tissue and swells up and hurts around the time of my period.

Whatever you have is probably nothing to worry about, but try to see your GP tomorrow to set your mind at rest. They will prob refer you to a breast clinic which is very thorough.

Good luck and try not to let your imagination run wild!

VerityBrulee · 17/06/2012 12:49

What I meant to make clear is that serious stuff, ie cancerous lumps don't usually hurt, hence the fact that being sore is a good sign.

I am going to GP tomorrow if no improvement. Mine came on v suddenly woke up with it

BrigitBigKnickers · 17/06/2012 13:09

Rabid · 17/06/2012 13:14

Oddly it does feel hot.

Go first thing the worry is the worst

BrigitBigKnickers · 17/06/2012 13:29

I had something similar a few years ago - very sore, red, hot swollen patch. I was l long past breast feeding but it was definitely mastitis- after a few days it subsided so I didn't go to the doctor (was actually on holiday when it happened.) But about 2 months later I had a blacky greeny discharge from the same nipple.

I was terrified as this can be a sign of BC.I was referred to a breast surgeon who did all the tests and apparently it was the infection finally making it's way out. He said if I had had antibiotics at the time I probably wouldn't have had the later symptoms.

Other posters are right- BC rarely causes pain- it does sound like an infection-see a GP pronto.

Rabid · 17/06/2012 13:42

Right nod. Meet you back here

OP posts:
Elibean · 17/06/2012 14:18

Very unlikely to be BC - there is only sort that causes redness/pain and its rare. Far, far more likely to be an abscess or mastitis, which is very ouchy and can make you feverish and quite ill if left untreated - so yep, GP first thing or if you start to run a fever, go to out of hours!

And besides, always play safe and get peace of mind from a professional Smile

AnnaMosity · 18/06/2012 13:21

Right. Doctor said yes it's big! How didn't I notice. But it moves (that's good). Bloody hurts. Almost like Pre let down when feeding.
Usual qs about periods. (am on coil )
Referred. Within 2 weeks.
Am a bit weepy. 70%sure is cyst.

noddyholder · 18/06/2012 13:29

I am being referred too but first to dermatology as the tenderness is indicating possible shingles and now have nipple pain. Hopefully both ok xx Don't worry(I know)

Elibean · 18/06/2012 14:21

Well done for going, both of you! Sounds ouchy (Noddy, having had shingles on face, sounds absolutely horrid in boob!) and hope you both get fast referrals.

Actually, come to think of it, if GP suspects shingles - shouldn't they start you on antivirals, Noddy? Has to be done fast if rash comes up, so look out for one!

noddyholder · 18/06/2012 14:28

I can't have the antivirals as I have had a renal transplant and they make me really sick. I have had shingles before and think and hope its that. Can't even tolerate a bra atm. Thankk god for the NHS though

Elibean · 18/06/2012 14:50

Oh yes, of course - ugh, poor you Noddy. Does sound rather shingle-like, coming on so fast Sad

AnnaMosity · 18/06/2012 14:57

can you imagine though how they fecking communicate with you?
BY POST
how much would it save if they get an email with a referral, then phone you and say "hey buster come in"

( its me btw)

VerityBrulee · 19/06/2012 10:09

Glad you both got to GP quickly. Quite normal to feel weepy. I was a basket case the first couple of times. Now I try not to worry until some v well qualified medical professional tells me there is something to worry about.

70% sure of a cyst sounds v reassuring to me Anna. Noddy, hope it is shingles if that is easily dealt with.

Look after yourselves, lots of treats to get you through it. Makes you want to hug your dc much more doesn't it?

Pinot · 19/06/2012 13:57

Hey Anna and Noddy

I've had a fibroadenoma in my left tittage before (also known as a breast mouse) and it was quite knee-wobblingly scary but turned out to be totally harmless. Think that may be what you have fishie - it's called a breast mouse as it moves. Anyway, snip snip out out done done. Voilá!

noddy I hope you're OK - shingles is vile. Poor thing. Echinacea and Selenium would serve you well as it helps support your immune system.

Tit tale ends.

AnnaMosity · 19/06/2012 15:29
