hi , worried sick , last night i found one of my lymph glands up on my right groin like where knickers sit to right a bit from that area , worried what could be ...:-(

i have had glands up in past on neck and pits , and doc has just said they often come up due to infection and sometimes don't go down or take time to ..
could this be the case with a groin one ? although i feel fine , bit run down but most of us are ....

i will get appt , but god knows when as can never get in ..

but in mean time I'm trying to keep in perspective ....any one had similar ...

Yes, can be just like other glands. My groin glands came up (like peas) when I had shingles - and the shingles rash was on my face/scalp, so nowhere near! Any systemic infection could cause them Smile

Get it checked if it stays for more than a week or two, but odds are its probably done it before and you've just noticed this time...

choclab · 16/06/2012 13:54

thank you , Elibean , yes you could be right may been there for while i just noticed , but will keep eye on it ...just HA creeps up when theres a lump or bump involved ....

Same as Elibean
I had shingles on my buttock which bought up the gland in my groin. I had the lump for years afterward.

SuzySheepSmellsNice · 16/06/2012 17:57

Please do go to doctor, my friend had a lump and it turned out to be a cyst. I'm not trying to scaremonger (sp?) but its always worth checking out.

choclab · 16/06/2012 18:04

thanks

You're still checking, I see Grin

I could have posted BelgianBun's post, word for word, as totally understand the HA - and totally agree with her advice.

Make an appointment for 2 weeks' time - and do NOT allow yourself to feel your glands more than once a day (less is unrealistic, right? Smile)

choclab · 16/06/2012 18:20

thanks Elibean will take BBs and your advice HA is horrid and I'm glad to know I'm not alone ....

thank you

Welcome Smile

Get a cuddle from the lab (if you have one), and some choc if you haven't, and see if you can figure out what else in your life might be stressful right now. I know from experience that sometimes HA can only be dealt with once the immediate focus is removed - so if you still feel focussed on your glands next week, go see your GP. But as soon as you have got that reassurance (which I'll bet you do) start figuring out that stress and taking care of it/yourself....or it'll find another lump or bump to focus on, if its anything like mine!

Good luck x

choclab · 16/06/2012 18:28

thank you ELibean ..i do have 2 choc labs ...and will do ..am going to practice what you all preach ....

appreciate the advice ..will watch and see ( but resist daily pokes promise )and if no better or worse i will go check ...

thanks again
xx

Grin

How are you, lump aside?

choclab · 17/06/2012 18:26

im ok, still feeling anx about it , although it's not huge just bit bigger than other glands ,

we booked flights for summer hold , was really excited , then i felt worried as thought of my gland being bad Sad so guess that set me off ...

i had full bloods done only a month or so , so i hope if i was real sick would flag up o them right ? ....
