just googled it on google images, there are lots of pictures?hope this might help?

I would call the specialist you have been referred to at the hospital - tell them you are really concerned and ask them what you should do. Maybe they have some cancellation appointments you could use.

gawd what a pain aimsmum!

if the doctor(GP) is not too worried, does that make you feel a bit better?

have you got the money to go privately to an opthamologist if you are really worried?

You should be able to go to your local A&E and get them to send you straight to the local eye clinic as an emergency case.

Otherwise go to an opticians they can send you straight to an eye clinic if they think you need to be seen.

Wow, a real life celebraty!
I know the waiting time for a standart appt is that long however you would get an urgetnt appt much quicker.
If your GP does suspect herpes I think this requires treatment promptly, however If he suspect this other condition that perhaps is why he is waiting for the specialist opinion.
If it is causing you grief, there is an emergency opthmologist that covers the south side based at the southern, but not sure what goes on in the north.
What ever way you decide to go I think perhaps it would be better for a specialist to decide if this was herpes.
Why not ask you gp to make this an urgent referal tell him your v anxious about it being herpes and leaving it for so long.

Am from the area...

LIZS · 07/02/2006 13:55

SIL was supposedly diagnosed with this but it turned out to be an amoeba bug (like the report \link{http://www.newscientist.com/article.ns?id=dn4537 , possibly caused by it transferring from the water used to soak her contact lenses in to her eye. She has had it since the summer, was misdiagnosed for several weeks and has already lost some vision. Don't think you can be too careful. Is there an emergency eye clinic or specialist hospital near you ?

LIZS · 07/02/2006 13:56
