It seems that there is probably rather a lot of us who are impatiently waiting to see consultants, have tests or waiting for surgery. So a thread for you to vent in or post your 'hooray's'

me. Am waiting to see my cardiologist. been a bit of a catalogue of delays and getting lost in the system. I have a wonderfully supportive gp who has just calmed me down after me losing the plot a bit when I found I wasnt on the appt system.

How about you?

Breastmilk that is fantastic. So pleased to see you back safe and sound :)

Madsometimes · 21/03/2012 15:43

So pleased for you Breastmilk, it's great to see you on the other side of your pre-operation stress. I bet you feel so relieved to be home Smile. Thanks so much for updating the thread, lots of us were wondering how you had got on.

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 21/03/2012 15:53

Thanks, all of you. Still a bit out of it with the anaesthetic and not properly slept since the weekend but holding you all in my thoughts.

kitten Eeek I'm sorry about your becoming so ill. If it's any consolation, the same thing has happened to me too. People can be kind. I hope that your appointment next week gets things sorted pronto. If you get any such sort of dizziness again, my suggestion would be that you get to A&E for an ECG ASAP... it may aid diagnosis and speed things up.

Hi BFS

Hi again to Backpack... and argh another MRI. I wish I could have driven you there, though given that I have no license and am currently DVLA disqualified, you were probably better off making your own arrangements.

reeny how the do you manage to be so patient.... admiration!

Mad and Ben10 thank you for being so hugely supportive

Anyone I've inadvertantly ignored/overlooked Sorry Blush. Just blame all the drugs I'm on...

Only two more hours until I can get the kiddies back from the childminder's. Apparently DD has been an utter terror Sad, so not like her at all...

ohyouBadBadkitten · 21/03/2012 16:11

Your dd is probably expressing some of the stress she's felt. It is scary how much they pick up on, even if it's non verbal feelings. Unfortunately it can't be helped.

I should have gone to a&e I think. Though by the time I got home it was passing. Spirometery test tomorrow.

Make sure you rest lots.

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 21/03/2012 16:16

I think you're right. I suppose it surprised me though because DD, though only 2, is very able to talk about how she feels . And she's usually so gentle and warm with DS... I'd never ever known her to hit him.

I just want now to cuddle and cuddle them both, even though I am so sore and it hurts to move.

I hope the sprometery goes well tomorrow... or at least, gives you some answers.

LargeGlassofRed · 21/03/2012 16:23

Fantastic news breastmilk so glad your home.
After a frustrating week waiting for neurology appointment just had a call to say have an appointment next Tuesday, so huge relief I don't have to chase it up anymore, I've been on the methotrexate 3 weeks now with no improvement in symtoms have my blood test tomorrow to check liver function.
My last MRI on my head was October so not sure if I'll need another one.
Hi to everyone else :-) double vision really effecting my ability to mumsnet as much as I'd like.

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 21/03/2012 16:35

Thanks! Glad you're finally got the appointment. Hope you don't need to chase the bloods too.

ohyouBadBadkitten · 21/03/2012 16:44

Hopefully Tuesdays appt will help set you on the path to improvement LGR.

Breastmilk - my dd is acting up a bit and she's 12! Stress affects everyone in funny ways. Enjoy your cuddle :)

Thanks both, I have a 12 year old dd to badkitten she can swing from bring delightful to tempestuous in a matter of minutes, I'm blaming it on the hormones.
I think it's hard for dc's seeing their mums ill even when they re little they pick up very quickly on mood. I didn't see the dt's for 6 weeks when I was in last time it was heartbreaking, and still now if I put my shoes on to go out they say 'no hopital mummy'

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 21/03/2012 17:48

:( How old are your twins?

DD calls hospitals 'watching helicopter place'. It tool me a while to work out why, but when I was in hospital last year my ward was on the top floor, and there was a helipad on the roof... I'd not even noticed!

BackPackBackPack · 21/03/2012 18:11

Hi Breastmilk Pleased your op went well and you are at home :)
I'm also DLVA disqualified so it is Taxi's or busses, DP is currently taking lessons but with moving and me having surgery recently he has not been out for a lesson, We are hoping he gets on his lesson next week.

Hopefully by now you have had a cuddle off your children by now :)

I had a call from the NeuroSurgeons secretary today, the MRI shows no Tumours :o but it does show a problem with my other illness Angry. I last had surgery for that one in Novemeber. So that is the reason the back of my head is more painful at the moment.

All of the DR's were concentrating on the other illness they ignored the most serious one.

LargeGlassofRed · 21/03/2012 18:14

Ah bless the boys love the helicopters and ambulances too!
They're 2.9 months.
Very loud boisterous boys who are constantly on the go, :)

LargeGlassofRed · 21/03/2012 18:18

Oh no backpack, what will that mean for you now? Do you know?

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 21/03/2012 19:17

Oh backpack.... :( it seems just never to end for you. Where do you take things from here?

I've just had a lovely snuggle with DS, but DD arrived back from the childminder fast asleep. I will cuddle her in the morning...

BackPackBackPack · 21/03/2012 19:25

It will mean more surgery but as it is not life threatening (sp) they are going to leave the surgery to give my body a chance to recover. It is apparently the reason I collapsed and fell down the stairs, but the CT Scan never picked it up which can sometimes happen apparently.

On the plus side I bought a shower cap today so I have just spent an hour in the bath with DD :o The best bath I have ever had :)

BreastmilkDoesAFabLatte · 21/03/2012 19:35

Ah, how lovely. I've been told to wait a week before having one [smellyemoticon]

Madsometimes · 21/03/2012 19:50

Backpack You are an astonishing woman. I'm glad you had a lovely bath with your little one. Mine are a bit too big for that now, but I loved it when they were small.

It is also wonderful to read Breastmilk's posts. You sound really upbeat today.

BackPackBackPack · 22/03/2012 00:04

I don't really like baths but when DD asked me to go in with her I jumped at the chance. It was very nice. All we did was play boats and sing songs. DP actually came up at the end as he was concerned we were in there for too long and with me passing out he thought I passed out in the bath :(

I do agree that Breastmilk sounds very upbeat today.

I am in too much pain to sleep. I have phoned Out of hours GP as I need my morphing upping. I don't know why I need to wait like this when I could take the dose I need then tell my GP in the morning, But instead I need a new presciption before I do anything.

I am also feeling very week and faint at the moment. I am lieing down on the sofa so if I do faint I don't fall anywhere.

I am pleased they have found out the main problem but I so wish it was not this Chiari. I hate it when this plays up. :(

BackPackBackPack · 22/03/2012 00:05

Morphine*

My vision is also playing up. DP has said if I don't get to speak to someone in an hour he will get his mum to take me to the hospital.

Ben10HasFinallyLeftTheBuilding · 22/03/2012 06:53

Backpack Hope you got it sorted quickly last night. It sounds so very difficult for you :(

ohyouBadBadkitten · 22/03/2012 06:58

I hope that they were able to help you last night backpack.
