What could cause this and what does it mean for my eyesight?

I went for an eye test this morning as I have been having daily migraines and trouble focusing. The tests took 1 1/2 hours and I had to have some done again and for longer. One result is that my pupils are not dilating as they should be. The optician is writing to my GP to ask if it could be a result of my medication but also said I need to see the GP about the migraines. I am currently having my 3rd migraine of the day but the optician said there is nothing wrong with my eyes that would be causing them. I also felt very sick after having the light flashes in my eyes and some tests done.

I am on my 4th or 5th migraine of the day and just feel sad.

Needy bump. Have taken ibruprofen which hasn't done anything yet.

Take some paracetamol or aspirin too. I find that this helps on top of taking ibuprofen.

On your other thread you did mention that you'd changed medication recently, it sounds like it's worth looking into. No idea what it could mean for your eyesight.

In the meantime while you're getting it sorted ask the GP for some proper pain relief. When mine were really bad I took codeine and ibuprofen at the same time whick really did the trick.

..and hope you get it sorted soon. One a day is debilitating enough, I can't imagine 5.. I think i would have lost the plot by now!

I haven't changed meds that recently that they could be the cause of this to be honest. I did the nhs direct thing and it said I needed a call back but it was 2-5 hours and I can't stay up that late. I am planning on going to bed in a minute. I feel sick the pain is so bad and would rather be in labour.

Saw the GP. Said my eyes were fine. Gave me drugs for my migraines. Just trying not to cry atm as it hurts so much and I am just so fed up of one thing after another. Thank you for asking.

I get migraines too. At an eye test ages ago I was told my pupils don't dilate properly, so I find night vision hard. I also have problems with bright lights or flashing lights. In the morning, sometimes I find one pupil is larger than the other. No reason's ever been found for this.
I go for the co-codamol and ibroprofin approach. I was told if I needed anything stronger then the GP would prescribe something.

I have taken the painkillers (sachet of powder in water) but so far, no pain relief.

You're telling me. I am on migraine number 4.

I can't remember what it is like to feel well, to be able to concentrate to read the paper, to stay up and watch a dvd with dh.

screen-time can't be good for a migraine? maybe switch off computer for a bit

Migraines can be food and/or hormone triggered, can you keep a diary of absolutely everything to see if you can work it out?

When I have Migraines I get one after another too, but 1 a day, not 4. A proper dose of good painkillers for a few days, some decent sleep, can do wonders.

Back to the GP tomorrow and get something stronger. I can't believe he prescribed bloody paracetamol for a migraine. FFS

Did the triptans do anything?

I haven't taken the triptan as too scared to. He said to only take one a week and at the time of the migraine I was having to pick the kids up in a few hours and I didn't know if it would wipe me out. I am going to be shortly.

Not sure but I think they need to be taken at the start of one, I know what you mean about being scared though.

Tbh, this many migraines...id be pushing for a referral.

When are the migraine gurus going to show I wonder, theyre usually much more useful than me

..I do think you need to try beta blockers too though, to try and break this cycle. Back to the GP with you xxx
