... I know some of the 'fat bloaters' may have started already, so we will allow you a head start!

But just wanted to know if any/how many of us are going to DO something about this situation we are all moaning about.. however much/little weight we want to shift.. so we can all be slimmer by Christmas!

But most of all.. my own selfish reason.. I want help.. I want all your forthright ladies her on MN to help ME do this.. because my willpower is non-existent now, my fat bloater of a DH doesn't care about how fat and bloated HE is and expects me not to care about my weight either... and I can't afford to go to a proper slimming club.. so don't think I can do it without you.

Can we all be here to nag/congratulate each other.. and actually DO this? (please) And have a weekly weigh-in? I know there are/have been other threads of this type.. but I thought this one could be specifically for us from Cod's fat bloater thread of yesterday, who want to start doing something about it NOW.. (or tomorrow.. as someone said, Mondays are good for this). And of course any other Bloaters of Varying Degrees of Fatness are very welcome too!

Who's in? Please don't let this thread sink into oblivion.. I NEED you all.. you are my means to being less fed up, miserable, fat and bloated!!! We can do this for and with each other!

Weigh in day today - 1lb off for me!
I'm pleased with that but want to try harder to lose more.
Jess - walking is an excellent exercise. I've started walking to places where I would normally drive like the supermarket, playgroups etc.
Good for me and baby too.
And some people do have the willpower to do exercise videos regularly!(well, while they're dieting, anyway!)
Good luck to everyone....

Avalon · 18/11/2005 12:48

Ok, on the second weigh-in I am now 13 st 4 lb. So a loss of 2lb. Not too bad I suppose, as I overdid the eating at the weekend!

Congrats on your weight loss Sai.

Still haven't got round to doing much exercise. Must try harder..

Hazellnut · 18/11/2005 13:42

Had a dreadful week - dd (9 months) thick with cold so have had hardly any sleep so that means no gym and eating lots of bad things to cheer myself up !! not the idea I know but can't bear the thought of getting on the scales...........

Avalon · 18/11/2005 14:31

Sorry to hear that Hazellnut - hopefully next week will be a better week for you.

Anyone else?

Avalon · 18/11/2005 16:08

.

mazzystar · 18/11/2005 16:15

hello - am i too late to join in?

am truly in need of encouragement. probably need to shift two and a half stone.

would run upstairs and get on the scales to share my true shame with you but have a poorly DS asleep on my lap...typing one handed...

am thinking of cutting carbs out after lunch for a start. anyone tried that sort of thing?

Hazellnut · 18/11/2005 16:21

OK so I decided I was being a wuss and making excuses so decided to weigh myself and I am 11 stone 4 ! So no loss but most importantly, considering I have eaten about 5 bars of choc this week and not been to the gym, I have not gained. I have been doing a lot of walking as its the only place dd will sleep during the day so that's probably helped !!

Well glad I did that, its cheered me up a bit... now where's that choccie bar....

Avalon · 18/11/2005 16:26

You're not too late, mazzystar.

I've never tried just cutting out carbs - anyone else? I'm finding that if I just cut down generally, I'm ok. If I tell myself I can't have this or that, suddenly I really want it.

Well done Hazellnut for not gaining. I seriously thought I might have put some on this week instead of losing - what a relief when I didn't!

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 18/11/2005 17:42

I weighed too today.. I have maintained which I consider to be very lucky considering I went off the rails a bit in the latter part of the week. Back on the straight and narrow now.. or will be tomorrow.

Avalon · 18/11/2005 17:59

Well done JessNutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire. Gosh, that's a long one to type!

Where is everyone else? Come on ladies, sign in!

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 18/11/2005 20:22

Thanks Avalon. WHERE have all those 'fat bloaters' gone? LOL!

Avalon · 19/11/2005 11:09

They're obviously lying low, Jess!

Can we tempt you out today?

We fat bloaters have to stick together!

Sai · 20/11/2005 09:37

Hi. I was definitely a fat bloater yesterday. Had loads of oatcakes and cheese after dinner last night. I mean loads - I nearly finished the box of oatcakes and a wedge of cheese!
But I did go to the gym yesterday and today we are going for a nice long family walk.

As for cutting carbs - I did the Atkins diet for 2 weeks a couple of years ago and I lost a lot of weight. I only needed to lose a few pounds and lost over half a stone. That was the only time ever someone called me 'skinny'!
Its a horrible diet and I love my carbs too much to be able to do it again. All that eggs, cheese and meat. Eeugh. Just thinking back to it makes me feel ill.
Give me pasta, rice and potato any day!

Some people swear by not eating carbs after 6 etc. It does work as long as you stick to it, like any diet.

Is everyone else sticking to their diet?

dinny · 20/11/2005 09:54

hi everyone - I'm tempted to cut out carbs for a while as it always has made weight fall off. can someone give me an idea of a day's (low-ish carb) food? have been pg and bfing so long have forgotten how to do low-carb!

also, am going to stop all alcohol as dh on the wagon and hate drinking alone!

Avalon · 22/11/2005 09:54

How's this week going - anyone?

I'm having a housework blitz this morning (in between MN ) and going to burn some calories that way.

Sai · 23/11/2005 09:22

Hi. Not doing too well this week. Had a couple of lunches out, had people round who bought me cakes and chocs, going out tomorrow night.
Think I'm going to have to write this week off and hope I haven't gained!
I've not even managed to get any exercise in either.
I'm not going to get too down about it as I've had a nice time and sometimes you just get the odd week like that.
How's everyone else?

Sai · 28/11/2005 09:08

C'mon people!
Stop slacking off and get back here!

Hazellnut · 28/11/2005 10:14

hellooo

Meant to post last week to say, I weighed myself and was down 2 pounds - woo hoo and hadn't actually done anything except was dashing around getting stuff ready for my dd's christening rather than sitting round people's houses eating cake..... hmmmmm.....
