... I know some of the 'fat bloaters' may have started already, so we will allow you a head start!

But just wanted to know if any/how many of us are going to DO something about this situation we are all moaning about.. however much/little weight we want to shift.. so we can all be slimmer by Christmas!

But most of all.. my own selfish reason.. I want help.. I want all your forthright ladies her on MN to help ME do this.. because my willpower is non-existent now, my fat bloater of a DH doesn't care about how fat and bloated HE is and expects me not to care about my weight either... and I can't afford to go to a proper slimming club.. so don't think I can do it without you.

Can we all be here to nag/congratulate each other.. and actually DO this? (please) And have a weekly weigh-in? I know there are/have been other threads of this type.. but I thought this one could be specifically for us from Cod's fat bloater thread of yesterday, who want to start doing something about it NOW.. (or tomorrow.. as someone said, Mondays are good for this). And of course any other Bloaters of Varying Degrees of Fatness are very welcome too!

Who's in? Please don't let this thread sink into oblivion.. I NEED you all.. you are my means to being less fed up, miserable, fat and bloated!!! We can do this for and with each other!

Yeah, i want some tips on sugar cravings in the evening please! I normally resort to chocolate

Sai · 10/11/2005 08:04

Hi all. Walked 6 miles yesterday and stuck to the diet so, so far so good
I have to fight chocolate and icecream urges in the evening too. Once you resist a few times (and it is hard) and see the weight coming off, it does get easier.
Its all about the willpower, unfortunately. There are no secrets.
Also, if you work it into your diet, you can allow yourself some chocolate/treat every day.
Hope everyone else is doing well....

Avalon · 10/11/2005 10:06

Hi all. Hope today's going to be a good day for us all.

Well my jeans are feeling looser, so I think I must have lost a bit of weight.

Congratulations to anyone who's managed to lose a lot of weight. It's been so long I've forgotten how hard it is.

How are you all today? Sign in and let us know!

Avalon · 10/11/2005 10:39

Sai - thought your message was from yesterday.

Well done on your 6 miles - think I'd be lucky to walk one!

Hazellnut · 10/11/2005 10:47

WOw Well done on the 6 miles. Am meant to be going to a class at the gym today but my knee is still really dodgy so everyone is telling me not to go but I'm thinking I will have then only been once this week which wasn't the plan !! But guess its best to let my knee mend ..... keep weighing myself though on the scales, first time I had lost 1 1/2 pounds in a day, then I'd put 1/2 pound back on... must lock them away and only get them out once a week !!

Avalon · 10/11/2005 17:35

Hazellnut - how did the gym go?

manzanilla · 10/11/2005 19:37

SO so day for me today. Went out for lunch and had tomato pasta rather than super delicious gorgonzola and spinach pasta my friend was noshing .

Now fighting the urge to have a handful of olives and a large glass of wine. Somehow a diet coke in the evening just isn#t the same. Gordon Ramsay's on TV shortly so no doubt will have food envy later.

We have people to lunch on Sat - any ideas on what I can make which is low lard but still a treat? I usually do roast chicken but it's becoming a bit of a joke now as I make it so often....

No exercise today either - too cold! Read about the 6 miles and am deeply impressed.

X

Hazellnut · 10/11/2005 20:00

Didn't make it to the gym due to knee problem. I did go for a bit of a walk but that showed I shouldn't have gone to gym given pain in knee !! Its really annoying - now I have some willpower (a little !) and really making an effort to go to gym I can't go.... grrrr....

Know what you mean about the wine/diet coke thing - its just not fair !!

Hmmm..... trying to think of something you can cook but I'm not very good like that, I would think 'we have friends coming, I must be allowed to fall off the wagon as a treat !' - do you like fish ?

cod · 10/11/2005 20:02

Message withdrawn

manzanilla · 11/11/2005 11:18

Hazelnutt, I do like fish but for ease would do a fish pie which takes me back to square one. Think I might have to do Shepherd's pie and just try not to eat lots of it.

Know what you mean about falling off wagon - trouble is, once i think I've blown it for the day, I stuff myslef silly and back track by a few days! Think 3 glasses of wine last night was a little excessive but will have less today...

How is everyone doing today? Any weekend plans (not involving food )?

Avalon · 11/11/2005 20:40

Anyone to weigh in today?

Hazellnut · 11/11/2005 20:55

oh gosh yes, weigh in day .... will go and dig scales out - but i don't want to be first......

Think your idea sounds good Manzanilla about shepherd's pie..... wasn't going to drink tonight but had a cr*p day so need a glass..... or two..... grrr.. no will power....

right will go and weigh myself before I eat...

Avalon · 11/11/2005 20:57

I'll just get the kids to bed before I weigh.

Hazellnut · 11/11/2005 21:01

my NEW scales are broken, they just told me I was 6 stone !!! I'd like to believe them but......... harumph. Yesterday they told me I was 11 stone 4 ounces. Want to be 9 1/2 stone (well wouldn't mind being less but think thats a realistic-ish target !).

Right where's that wine.....

manzanilla · 11/11/2005 21:20

That is SO cruel, how can they have done that to you? Mind you, 6 stone on anyone would be too low, IMHO.

Shepherd's pie now cooking, along with apple crumble, for tomorrow's lunch. Maybe if I just ate the apples. No weigh in for me til Tues when I go to WW, aka Fat Fighters. I only stayed for the meeting part once but that was enough to put me off for life. Dust anyone?

Seriously, I am very cross that I can't lose weight without paying £5 a week just to stand on someone else's scales, but I am afraid I can't so have to buy the willpower somehow. Putting on weight was very embarrassing. Don't want to do it again.

Could I lose 1/2 a stone by Christmas??

Avalon · 11/11/2005 21:49

Well, I've just weighed myself and I'm the grand weight of 13 st 6 lb.

Lots of work to do there then.

Anyone else who wants to weigh in?

Sai · 12/11/2005 23:27

Not sure what is going on with the threads - I think there is a separate one for weighing in or is that the new thread??
Well done all for the losses.
Well, I've had a lovely day today but, unfortunately, a very bad day for dieting! Eaten cake and big lunch and dinner with desserts.
Yum but bad. Walked 3 miles though.
Back to it tomorrow and am going to the gym too.
Good luck to everyone for the following week
And yes, you can lose 1/2 stone by Xmas. You can lose 2lbs a week if you stick to a diet/exercise program.

mancmum · 13/11/2005 08:05

a whole pound off -- not bad considering a slip up involving chocolate molten cake with malteser ice cream... but will be really starting tomorrow properly...

Sai · 14/11/2005 17:54

Tis been quiet here....
How's everyone doing?
I went to the gym yesterday and had a good workout.
No exercise today as I slept all afternoon!
However, managed to stick to my diet as a result

puff · 14/11/2005 18:01

1.5 lbs this week

Avalon · 16/11/2005 11:32

I've carried on cutting down this week, after a blip at the weekend .

I feel thinner, though I expect the scales will disagree on Friday!

SleepyJess · 16/11/2005 11:43

Hi I did start a separate one for weigh day last Fri but not sure if anyone much saw it.. I lost 3lb! There were a couple of other weight losses reported too..

Still going on ok... although had a migraine for 2 days which always make me want to eat carbs.. (not that I am avoiding them.. but wanted stuff like crisps to make me feel better so I ate them!). Think I am still on the straight and narrow though..

We just need the one thread really don't we.. but I cocked the title up on this one..

Yes I feel a bit thinner too.. though a lot fatter than this time last year... it's very psychological all this isn't it? Sometimes feeling thinner spurs me on to keep up the diet.. other times, it makes me think I 'deserve a treat', spelling the end of my diet!!!

Hi.
Had ups and downs this week. Did lots of walking but also a quite a bit of eating due to friends visiting and going out etc.
Did my 6 mile walk yesterday.
Hope I at least stay the same this week as don't want to gain....

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 17/11/2005 10:20

I am not doing any exercise I did start jogging as it's free and not very time consuming (well not for me anyway, as I can't hack it for long) but I really can't hack it anyway!! Excerise classes suit me best.. but I can't afford them. Can't afford to go to the gym.. and it would appear nobody has the stamina/self control to MAKE themselves do fitness vids/dvs.. so I haven't bought one..

Oh dear. I may end up slim.. (well maybe..) but I will be unfit. I used to exercise quite a lot.
