in my boob.

just five minutes ago felt it.

i do have loads of swollen glands all over the place ( hideous cold/flu bug) and am a bit run down.

i also have a lump in my left thigh i have been ignoring for a while as a lump in the thigh is no where near as panic making as a lump in the boob.

so.

do i draw a biro mark to remind myself whre it is? and leave it till the end of the week / new year:? or what?

feck feck feck.

Is it painful?

onepieceoflollipop · 26/12/2010 20:57

Probably I would ask for an urgent GP appointment on Wednesday after the bank holidays. Sorry to hear this, what a worry for you.

Breasts are more lumpy just before a period, you probably know this but just mentioning it in case this applies to you?

ajandjjmum · 26/12/2010 20:58

Silly comment but try not to panic. Happened to me once, and it was just swollen glands combined with the time of the month.
But do get it checked out asap.

whomovedmychocolate · 26/12/2010 20:59

Whereabouts in your boob. Is it near your armpit? May well be a lymph gland. Wait three days and then if it's still there go to the GP. It's most likely a gland if you are flu-ey. But yes it should be checked out if it does not vanish.

Lumps in inner thighs may well be glands as well. I had a cracking one at the top of my leg (like a bollock!) which hurt quite a lot. But it went after three days.

Valpollicella · 26/12/2010 20:59

Biro mark sounds like a good idea. When's your doctor's surgery next open? Weds I would presume..?

Please make an appointment then

Please don't panic now. It may well be just swollen glands etc but definately go to see the docs asap

TheYuleLogLady · 26/12/2010 20:59

mid cyccle. feels sore like a bruise - which is why i thin it might be swolen gland maybe?

OP posts:
TheYuleLogLady · 26/12/2010 21:01

not near arm pit. on cleavage side.

whomovedmychocolate · 26/12/2010 21:02

If it feels like a bruise it may well be a bruise, a swollen gland or indeed a blocked duct. Tumours rarely hurt. :)

Valpollicella · 26/12/2010 21:03

PLease please please go to the docs on Weds. It's very difficult to judge what feels like a lump.

It may well be nothing but I think just to settle your mind (and ours Smile) please go x

TheYuleLogLady · 26/12/2010 21:04

thats what i thought.

will see what happens later in the week. and if there weds or thurs get checked.

OP posts:
TheYuleLogLady · 26/12/2010 21:05

bollocks eh.

OP posts:
DwpAnxt · 26/12/2010 21:06

Sounds like a swollen lymph gland . Marking the spot with biro is a great idea -but dont keep poking it to see if it still hurts.Smile

It is possibly true that Tumours rarely hurt but mine hurt like buggery.Always get something suspicious checked out.

whomovedmychocolate · 26/12/2010 21:19

Indeed, it's vital to get any lump checked out. But in the circs agree waiting till Wednesday is fine.

Incidentally use water based inks ie kids pens and reuse rather than biro. An angry red ring where you have reacted to the ink will do you no favours at this point Blush

yes, do go - don't keep prodding it as it'll make it feel worse..chances are it's a gland but you'll worry if you don't seek reassurance from your GP.

Rindercella · 26/12/2010 23:16

Go to the GP on Wednesday. Do not put it off. It is likely that it is nothing. But there is a chance that it could be nothing.

Make sure you feel confident that your GP is sure of what they are doing. Insist on a referral/mammogram if you have any doubt. One of DH's first symptoms was swollen gland in his groin. GP examined it and dismissed it as nothing. Sadly it wasn't nothing Sad

I really don't mean to scare you, but you need to get this checked out ASAP for your peace of mind, if nothing else. Keep posting and let us know how you get on.

Rindercella · 26/12/2010 23:17

Ahem. There is a chance it could be something.

MaryAnnSingleton · 27/12/2010 08:15

always go,don't worry if you think you are wasting the doc's time-you aren't-they'd rather see you to reassure or refer sooner rather than later-and if it is anything you'll be catching it early which is good.

singarainbow · 27/12/2010 11:30

I hope you get it checked out....strange coincidence as I was only on this board because I found one too yesterday Sad.
I found one about 8 years ago and it was all fine, so expect it will be the same, but does feel bit different Confused.
Hating the bloody bank holidays though!

TheYuleLogLady · 29/12/2010 17:36

I have failed miserably in phoning the doc today. i am so cross with myself but i just couldn't. bloody idiot Blush.

I had a lump under my armpit which scared the life out of me.

Doctor felt it and knew straight away it was nothing.

The not knowing is the worst part - phone first thing in the morning, or make someone else phone and book for you.

IAmReallyFabNow · 29/12/2010 17:44

Phone tomorrow. Sooner you do you can relax if neither of the lumps are serious but if they are the quicker it is treated the better. Good luck.

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/12/2010 19:39

yep- really the not knowing is the worst bit - please go

IAmReallyFabNow · 30/12/2010 12:12

Have you phoned for an appointment?

TheYuleLogLady · 30/12/2010 13:37

yes. next tuesday. argh.
